HELP!

I cant start the game

Help, please. I recently had to restore my computer, so I reinstalled all of my stuff. For some reason now, Galciv 2 says the following when I try to start it says

the product appears to be validated but the serial number or the machine SID dont match.

And it wont start

Edit: I got it to start, but now it wont activate.

All you need to do is delete the file sig.bin from the game's folder and reactivate. Make sure you use the right serial and email address (same one as you used last time).

Well if you can remember your email and password for your stardock account, you can get your serial e-mailed to you.

You do at least need to remember your email address, in order to use the serial request here. If you cannot remember which email address you used, but think you may have an idea about that or any other information you specified in your account, you should contact [email protected] and see if they can help you find it.

Getting angry because you can't keep your e-mail straight isn't going to help.

The best thing to do is have the serial sent, then check all the emails you have used/had since owning the game. If that doesn't work then support may be your only option. Stardock has good support and will get it straightened out if given a little time.

Right. You should try the email address used for your forum account (your yahoo address). As the account has been around a while, that's probably the one you registered to.

Better this "Stupid activation bs" as you say than a Starforce-style protection system that wreaks havoc with your computer. Stardock's system is one of the least onerous in the industry.

Not to mention the fact that they bend over backwards to try to be helpful to you.
