Having Sound Problems

from GalCiv2 Forums



Played the demo and sound/game worked great ... purchased online and downloaded GCiv2 1.4, now sound in game does not work ... deleted preferences files from the demo and updated my Creative SB Audigy drivers to latest version and still no sound in game ... downloaded and installed the tutorials and sound works great in tutorials but still no sound in game ... All sound option sliders are set to max but I hear only my case fans.... Any ideas or advice?

Ok now I feel stupid ... I notice that the multimedia files need to be downloaded seperately ... I'm betting this will get my sound going ...

Your sound should still work regardless.

Sometimes the sound dousn't work on my game too but usually if i restart my computer, that will fix it.

Somones probably going to ask you to post your debug file, i never see a post like yours without that being asked.

No, it wouldn't. IIRC *all* the sounds are in the multimedia module--without it or the video module, the game is dead silent.

Sorry, i thought i did not download the multimedia, but i must have and forgoten.
