-Customizable ships that you begin with not like with just terran, just solely your own race.

I think the learning curve for new players could be easier if the tutorials were interactive within the game engine, rather than reducing the student to watching a series of videos, which are somewhat like listening to a professor's lecture. A hands-on tutorial would be an improvement.

Generals and Family trees?
1. Last time I checked, each turn is one week. It will take a whole lot of turns to for someone to die. Even then, medical technology might have expanded the life spans of us humans to 500 years, let alone what it might be for other races. The Yor, being machines, are theoretically immortal already.
2. This sounds a lot like Rome: Total War, a game I hate. I would hate to have GalCiv 2 become another Total War game. **Shudders**

I agree that the time frame is unsuitable for any sort of family tree\descendant idea. Also, leaders would be too tough I believe to implement at this point in the game. As for what 'pricate ships' means, well, I got nothing.

*Pirate ships are already in the game. And if you were meaning Private ships, then just make a single huge hull design once.

Sure Rome: Total War was only one of the best selling RTS games of that last decade or so, but what does that matter right?

Ok, I just had to get that out there.

Now, as for your ideas Star....they could use some fine tuning. I like the bloodline liniage idea, if you have a game that runs into several hunred years(although that would be the slowest game ever) then why shouldn't someone die? If done right it could be a good feature. Custom weapons? Not so much, because then people could make "the super gun" and never loose again simply because the AI doesn't make custom designs of anything. I would love to see more portraits. Generals, well it's about running the entire civilization so they would be kinda' minor. The interactive governers is a good idea though, or at least have a more involved senate and what-not.

Over all, some good stuff. Oh, and lest I forget, welcome to the boards.

-Characterr attitude
-more and more portraits maybe make them movable
-trade routes spread and grow for example after a certain amount of timesthe income increase because of tax traffic and new freighters moving into that trade route.
-Actual Govenors! no longerhaving micromanage they wil come up to you and say what that planet needs(also vassals and aprentices would be good too)
-when researching have option to make a dead planet habitable with orbital terraforming
-Family tree , all great leaders die
-leader bonuses and pricate ships
-better view of how your planet looks like
-Generals!
-Rebellions and become nation (ex. The Gragorg rebellion)
-show tourism traffic kinda dead out there ya know
-a better tutorial
-customizable weapons

* character attitude is in there already
* increasing of trade over time is definatly in there already
* making a dead planet habbitable is in some degree in there, there are a few PG1 or pG2 planets out there, useless at the start, but in the end they are around PG15.
* rebellions and become nations, there is a mega event for this.

i believe there also is a better tutorial, not sure aboutthat.

so there ya go buy DA now

I agree with alot you said. I made a forum for how much you would be willing to spend on what you want. So my question here is. How much would you spend on these upgrades? $30? $60?
