Drengin Influence Explosion

What the heck happened?

In a DA game over the weekend, between one turn and the next the Drengin jumped from around 40K influence to 220K influence. Their influence literally swamped half the galaxy.

I couldn't find any explanation for the gain. No influence starbases, only three, tightly clustered worlds.

I once ran into a bug where the population of one of my planets jumped to a huge number, and since influence is proportional to population, so did my influence. My population returned to the farm's cap the next turn, so it fixed itself. That was on one of the earlier patches, and I think it's been fixed since then.

The Drengin never lost this influence.

I saw it happen once as well to the Dread Lords in my game. But I got an event window that popped up and told me that the cultural influence was increasing.

Don't remember the text of the message, but I did get an in game message, thus I assumed this was one of the new MegaEvents in DA.

I got the same thing as nullspace. I had something like 200314 Trillion people on one planet, it was nuts. Suddenly planets on the other side of the galaxy were ready to defect!! Next turn, or maybe the one after that, everything went back to normal.

But that doesn't help you any, does it? Sorry.
