I haven't seen a post about this recently so I thought I'd share some in game experience with the 20K cap/bug in another effort to get it removed/fixed. 6 turns is all it took to go from a solid economy to complete production shutdown and back.

Who really even knows how much money an empire is pulling in, spending, and how much money they're printing ?

It would be much more likely that a true empire would lie about it's finances to everyone. Very few would really know what was going on. There would be curruption, but it wouldn't magically show up when the treasury got too high.

Curruption should be in the game, but it should be a slightly progressive tax based on income. The more money coming in, the more people can skim. Further the better off your empire was doing, the more people would push how much they could steal.

It shouldn't matter how much you have, or how much you're spending. It's how much that's coming in and how easy it is to skim.

Also we shouldn't be forced to micromanage our economy so.

Nobody forces you. But if you don't MM, you get less money. Decision is yours. I admit it is a nasty one though.
