Issues noticed during a game as the Thalans

First off, the Dread Lords still show up as an opponent. I had disabled them on a previous game, but I guess it doesn't stick.

Second, the second medium ship hull from the top is screwed up. Try to put things on the little nose wings, and they show up on the back. If you had something on that spot before, it is replaced.

Third, when I chose neutral, the red tiles on my planets did not become available. However, a class 12 world showed up as class 20 in the colony view, even though counting all the red squares still only got me to 16.

I am playing tough, but the opponents still do some very strange things. Minor races fill their entire dock with freighters and constructors. Minor races also appear to be unable to form fleets. The Jessuins actually had 4 fighters flying around in a group, but the Drengins were able to destroy them one by one. Almost everyone declared war on the Drengin, which gave them a massive (but thankfully low tech) fleet. The next turn, three of the races surrendered to other players. Obviously no-one had met the Drengin fleet yet. Several races ended up in corners and did nothing. The Arceans ignored 4 asteroid fields two sectors from their homeworld.

I got something even worse. All races would reduce their spending so they get like 2 research/production, and then do nothing. I can upload the save if you wish. Note i played on maso diff level.

The one thing that is not a bug is the fact that the read tiles didn't disappear. The neutral bonus has been changed to upgrade all green, yellow, and red tiles when the appropriate tech is researched (but without having to spend the social spending and time on habitat improvement, soil enhancement, and terraforming). In my opinion this is actually a little more balanced.

Aha. That is actually a lot more balanced.

Here is another serious issue that came up after I posted. The Korx declared war on me, and three of their heavy fighters attacked one of my maxed-out starbases. They plinked away at it, the starbase fired back and did 34 points of damage, without destroying the fighter. The same fighter took 30 points and then 59 points the turn after. They killed two starbases, and the ship defending the planet, with no loss.

It seem there are a few bugs that need to be worked out. I'm assuming your using the DA beta?

By the way, that change in the Neutral alignment thing was a really good idea.

laugh i've got a better one I had 2 planets and one precurser corvette that I swindled
the dread lords out of. The thalan empire declared war on me. Then sent 3 fighters which weathered a corvette and destroyed my entire empire. Including 4 resource stations that were upgraded to the max.

I've seen the minors being stupid with ships in my 1A games too. I had actually decided to be a good patron for the Paulos, who were right beside my homeworld. When I saw an Arcean fleet coming for them, I gave them an aging fleet stationed right beside them.

The Arceans picked the ships apart one by one, but they should have been able to win if they were a fleet. The Paulos didn't even launch all those non-combat ships and move their free warships into orbit.

Here's another thing that I just noticed. The little range limit on the zoomed-out map is all screwed up. Although I can send ships more than halfway across the gigantic map, the grey line for range only goes about two sectors from my planets.
