VERY IMPORTANT about Space Miners.

Here is the thing. Space miners are REUSABLE. Once they have upgraded the asteroid, you can click on them (they are on the asteroid) and then move them anywhere you want. (like the next asteroid). Once you move thenm, you can then click the asteroid and assign its production to any planet you own.

Note also that the farther you go for the asteroid the less production you get.

Thanks for the tip about distance. I knew that you could set up mining bases and then reuse the space miner but how do you upgrade the bases, with contructors or with the mining ships?

Upgrade with mining ships. In picture one you see a a button named improve (Under the Upgrade button). If you have the mining technology researched just click on it and it will improve your mine.

to upgrade the base you must first research the tech.

then take your roid buster back to the astroids and it will start to to upgrade your mining base.

If they are on automate, they'll not only automatically build mining bases on all your asteroids,they'll also upgrade them whenever the given tech is available which is nice too.
