Revenge of the 1000 Arcean Vengeances?

Guess they don't like being influenced...

So I've placed a Spin Control center on Earth and parked 10 really big starships in orbit... leaving my perceived military strength far above the other three remaining (Drath, Arceans, and Torians).

Then I launch my influence brigades at the Arcean cluster. Most of their colonies defect...

Then I thought my computer locked up. Got one of those "leader killed" message and about their declaring war on me -- but wait, they brought some "help."

It's a humongous world, and I swear it's filled -- the entire world -- with probably 1000 (no kidding) tiny Arcean Vegeances with 2 attack and no defense.

** I suppose developers don't like us taking over worlds this way **

Funniest thing I've ever seen in a game.

So anyway, I build small "Bees" (as I named them), which are tiny fast beam killers. It's taking hours to clear the screen... but I learned "Auto Attack"!

OMG

OK, it was actually 2000. LOL, got the influence victory after cleaning the universe floor.

I've seen this a couple of times. It's been so bad that I've actually abandoned a couple of games because I was sick of waiting for the AI to finish their turns :/

Honestly, they need to remove this event because it slows the game down way too much and the "vengeance" ships do absolutely nothing.

If they changed it to replace the little ships with a few powerful fleets, that'd be hot.

Yeah, I've gotten this annoying one a few times, but I didn't want to waste time on those ships so I just loaded an earlier save.

Yup i am hoping that this event is either removed or toned-down in DA as its a total game killer. Even my dual-core moans about getting one of those events

Yes, I just got my first one of these events. I started to panic, until I found out they were creampuffs. Yes it slowed down the game a lot for a few turns, but my fleets are now really experienced!

Scincerely,

I would not mind seeing it as one of the mega events if quantity of ships is toned down and quality of ships is increased. As it is now i reload.

I had this event with Terran Alliance. I took over all their planets but one last, and that micro ships appeared. I had by this time around 75 percent of galaxy, and one turn before influence victory Terrans declared war on me. I played Drath Legion. After several skirmishes with Terrans i just lost my patience ( that was really exhausting game because in mid game Jagged Alliance appeared and they took over around 50 - 60 planet which 5 of them where mine) and signed peace treaty to scoop Influence Victory. Hehe but in the end of the day, without that crazy Mega Events that game would be too predictable. They forced me to abandon conquest victory....ending score 22 000, difficulty level Tough (first time win!), huge
galaxy with nine races on, very fast technology rate, tech trading & tech stealing on, TA Beta 5

Ya it's a bad event. At least they are not over powerfull like pirates or peace keepers. The most they do is destroy unprotected starbases.

The thing to do is build your bee ships to move at 30+ (with just enough defense to not take damage), and send them on auto-attack rampages... (just walk away while the turn drags and drags...)

My solution was a long one but I found it fun. in four turns or so I sued for peace yay for universal peace, anyhow I then traded a lot of tech and a little bit of credit for all the vengeance ships that the AI had and went about upgrading them to my lesser class ships which I used in turn to swarm the rest of the players. it did take a long time as I had them all auto move to a set location before I upgraded them but before they came along I had no military to speak of and after that I ranked #1 in military.

I had the fracking Drengin do this to me while we were supposedly conquering the galaxy together... Frigates and Vengeances and Super Dominator Corvettes (oh my) didn't leave my not-so-well defended starbases with much of a chance, although I had decent high-defence ships by this point so I could laugh off everything but the newest frigates.
