Too much food

Heres the problem: I take a civs home planet, their capital moves to another planet under their control, and I get an initial colony instead. The problem is, the food production is unchanged despite the fact that the initial colony produces less food than civ capital.

I'll send an e-mail once I'm finished with this post.

P.S. Is the civ capital supposed to move to a new planet? I don't think it used to do that.

Edit:
I've seen the "too much food" problem since ver 1.31 . I can send the details for then too if you're interested.

i believe you always have a capital, i know it was in 1.3 for sure.
if you take over a capital he will move his capital to a new planet, otherwise you would have 2 capitals and he would have 0.

I don't know about the Beta, but in v1.31 and earlier versions this happens as well. Often you had to do a save and reload before this cleared itself up. Also the civ capital does move but it usually takes a turn before it happens. It won't happen until after the AI has had a chance to take it's turn.

Still playing v1.3 and I'm not sure I follow you. When I am on the attack and take the rival civ's homeworld, their capital immediately goes to another planet. I have had this happen in succession where I believe it was six or seven planets that I would conquer, and every time the capital moved until I finally decimated them.
There was one exception and it was when my opponent surrendered to another civ, thus giving up their homeworld to them. Sneaky.

Occurs occasionally. I have not seen it in 1.4 yet so maybe it been fixed. If you take over a minor though you get to keep the capital and have a second, or third, etc..

Yes. It has done that since beta.

Hmm... odd. I seem to recall that they didn't move when I first got the game. Oh well...

To clear up some confusion, I play as good, so I don't start wars, but I do finish them. Instead I tend to culture flip planets to my side. So if you have any difficulties coping the problem, keep that in mind.
