GalCiv II settings zapped on DA install

Only just noticed this as I have been playing around with DA, but all my saved games for GalCiv2 have been zapped, including the default Autosave and Quicksave files. The settings of GalCiv II have been changed to the default values, default five races, default race attributes, small map, default interface settings etc etc as an opening gambit.

It looks as though on install of the Beta it emptied the games/GalCiv2 directory of saved files and config information. Not the end of the world, but irritating as I was doing ok in the current GalCiv2 game - now deceased

Anyone else get this ? If so, then there's an issue to sort out for DA install as the intention was for both to coexist. Its possible maybe they were moved to a directory I dont know about by DA install ... but doubt it as when I opened GalCiv2 for the first time since DA install just now, the load screen was blank - that prompted me to look further - and *poof* they were all gone ... Settings and saved game files are fine now I have reset them, but if this has happened to others the DA install routine needs checking or there could be some grief flying about.

Hmmm... maybe something odd happened with your install. I just checked mine and GC2 and DA are in two completely different folders both in terms of saved games and main program. My understanding is they are separate games unlike other expansions that overwrite the original.

I do think it would be a little less jarring for players if DA somehow used the preferences set in GC2 if they exist. I know after playing for almost a year now I had forgotten all the things I changed or shut off. Not a big deal but a quality of life sort of thing
