Do Mining Starbases Count?

There's a limit of 4 starbases per sector. Does anyone know whether or not resource mining starbases count towards this limit?

IIRC, they don't count towards the limit.

I'm guessing not, or at least that code doesn't require them to be under the same limit. The reported vulnerability to influence makes me think they are in a different (new) object family.

Mining Bases on asteroids do not count towards the starbase limit.

GW Swicord is correct.  They are separate object types.

Thanks, but I'm still in v1.31 so I'm just talking about resource mining starbases vs. economic starbases. Not asteroids. I think (I hope) that's the question Kryo answered.

Just verified this in the game. Resource mining starbases do not count as one of your 4 allowed starbases per sector.

Thanks Mumblefratz.   I always thought they did and didn't even attempt to build another SB, If I had 3 and a Resource mine in the sector.
