Freeze on Launch

You should update your drivers with the latest ones from www.ati.com.  You should also check to see if you can get new audio drivers from NVidia or your computer manufacturer, because the Miles Sound System sometimes has problems with older sound drivers and yours are from 2004.

 

Updated drivers, tried again, got same message. Had to reboot & lost screenprint; got a message that 'The race configuration you have selected is invalid...' before everything stopped responding.

Go to My Documents\My Games\GC2DarkAvatar and open your prefs.ini file. 

add these lines under Video if they're not already there:

NoPointSprites=1
GfxForceNoPointSprites=1

(If they are there, make sure that they are set to 1)

and set Multisample=0 to turn off anti-aliasing.

This will get rid of the software emulation. 

If that still doesn't work, try setting Fullscreen=0 to run in a window and see if that helps.
