Like I said, mIRC isn't needed, but it's much, much better to use than www.ircatwork.com imo. That site has functionality, but little form.

You can get onto IRC directly through Stardock Central, nothing else is required.

Mirc has been around a long time. that's where this nick derived from in the mid 90's, wanted to use DeathAdder, but in the earlier days of Irc you could only have nine letter nicks. used to be a lot of solid communities on there, like there is here. To bad a lot of Irc has kinda now become the black market of the internet.
I stopped using mIRC years ago.

Tbh it's IRC, or MSN.
I'm so glad I finally persuaded most of my friends to get on IRC. Because the amount of smilies received per day, I was rather close to killing half of them.

I did try this last night around 11:30PM EST but either no one was there or I needed to enter a command that I didn't know how to do. Didn't feel like experimenting or blabbering into empty space. Is there something I'm missing or was it just no one was home?
if you have SDC open up the chat section (on the right) click connect, then type /join #galciv

I tried it out yesterday too, and left myself logged on for a bit. I came back and noticed you had appeared and left. There was just no chatting going on when you logged on.
Yea. It can be quiet in there for periods, but at times(e.g. right before the beta release) it can get pretty lively in there.
