DOOMED

DOOMED

Have you notist that if the first fue posts on a thread are
positive the thread is generally successful, but if they are
negative it tends to become a flame war.

I thought this was a product of the ultra strict polices of my
previous forum but to some degree its true hear to.

just a obsevation.

I also think very little goes on here without Stardock's knowledge and at least their implicit approval. The only thing that we really can do is to voice our feelings so that Stardock has an idea of how many people *are* bothered by these threads.

Personally, I don't like seeing threads like this either. But as a general rule we try to stay as hands-off as possible with moderation, so unless they go down in flames, they generally won't get locked.

The single best thing ANYONE can do to stop these threads is to just quit replying to them. Flamebaiters can't start a war if noone else participates. And it's better for the community as a whole if everyone just stands united in ignoring the troublemakers, rather than forcing me to resort to locking threads and demoting users.

I still think this is a problem and it's a problem that won't go away with the simple locking of an individual thread or the banning of a few individuals.

Exactly. Like I said, the key is for everyone to simply ignore the annoying posters and prevent these threads from getting anywhere to begin with. Locks and bans reflect badly on everyone involved, and are never a permanent fix for a determined troll.

Ah, pinko.

Good to see you slip up and spell correctly. I'm guessing I was correct, you ARE a fraud.

Now get your filthy hypocritical self off our forums please. We don't want you here.

Mumblefratz, you think Marcathonas is such a hero dont you?, in the eyes of me he is a villian. If he has destroyed the weakness, he destroys the strength with it. Every Austistic person suffers one exile in there lifetime and the actions they take to get out of it, define them. After the exile they don't appear to be austistic, just strange. He hasent got over his advercities yet . . . .

I accept all Marcathonas, as long as they dont destroy threads with them   .

Can we please just get back to playing the game.

Defend the innocent.

Actually, I'm trying to follow Kryo's advice to ignore these threads, but I can't help myself here.

For me to English is good with you. I know many that problem the spellings. It is for niceness to bee inviting with peoples. Agreement reached hear.

You know this forum can really keep you on your toes. There's always a new voice to be heard from. You read something like this and you think, Well that's kind of funny and cute in a Borat kind of way, but you really don't think too much about it.

Then you read Proloton's post #150 over on the America: Freedom and Fascism thread. Excellent, excellent post on the state of healthcare, education, foreign policy and morality in America. Plus as a bonus, a glimpse into the soul of a former special ops airman. Of course, he follows this up with post #155 about evolution that I don’t agree with, but that’s beside the point.

Anyway, Proloton, I have one request. On your serious posts, could you put in a couple of carriage returns after each couple of sentences or so, it would make it so much easier to read.    And keep up the good work on both the serious and the funny posts.

I'd add my own Borat impersonation here except I'm sure that I'd just fall flat on my ass in the attempt.

Mumblefratz, you think Marcathonas is such a hero dont you?

I don't know about being a hero, but he's demonstrated himself as a smart kid and a basically good kid that's a bit of a hothead.
As far as you're concerned, I actually haven't been paying all that much attention, so I haven't really formed an opinion.

However, your concept of embracing your weakness and making it your strength has merit. But I'm not going to get between you and Marc in your arguement about it. The only thing that I can suggest is that perhaps it's like GalCiv2. There are many different and apparently mutually exclusive strategies for winning the game, but as long as you win, how you got there is less important.

Wow, this thread has really gone a long way. Come on guys... this is getting ridiculous at this point. What I can't believe is people like Mumblefratz, Moosetek13, Marcathonas... you guys are really indulging Pinkylee aren't you? I am telling you all, Lordpinky is a nut case, plain and simple. Stop responding to any of his/her/it's post as they are all insane. As someone stated above, it seems that all Lordpinky is doing is causing trouble, regardless of off topic or not. Nothing game related in the least. I think Pinky is a troll, lonely and unloved, looking in the wrong place for some sympathy.

I'll admit some curiousity as to why Lord Pinko has not talked about the game much (at all?). But as someone who spent *years* ignoring *all* forums because of this kind of nonsense, I wish I had a good, short explanation (other than the fact that I'm on some unplanned downtime) for why I've suddenly started reading and posting in some of these "problem" threads.

Perhaps it's fascination with how some folks are able to weave together so many disconnected bits of logic with flaming nonsense based on poor understanding of the labels others use to describe themselves. Oops...that sounds like politics again

I have posted about the game, but I've never made a thread because all my qestions have been answerd by other peoples posts

as for being a troll, wtf fine you live in your little world were everything marc says is true, i'm leaving goodbye

as for marc being inteligent i don't dout that, but he's not smart.

If he was he would be able to see what a wanker he is

I’m not a religious guy and I’m not talking about religion here, but I personally believe that everyone is redeemable. However, I also realize not everyone wants to make the effort to try and redeem themselves. For me, the main issue with Lordpinko is his admission of arson. Rationalizing it with, “but these are very bad people” is just the ends justifying the means. In any case, besides whatever else he may be, he’s either a liar or a criminal. I can forgive him for being a lair or a troll or any of the other things he’s been called, but not for being an unrepentant criminal by his own admission.

I have observed that posts about flaming get a ****load of replies...maybe I should use that to my advantage...

"Will one of the Devs/mods PLEASE lock this topic. This has gone far enough!!

This thread serves no purpose in these forums other than to shock new members into never posting. Please get rid of this topic!!!"

I agree, but the power of the flame can't be denied!!!!

Well. If you liked this thread check out the one entitled Lord Pinko : Social Experiment, it kinda has a conclusion to this thread.

Ahh here it is:Lord Pinko Social Experiment

I have heard the fall out resonate throughout other threads regarding this social experiment thread, looked all over for it and found the thread started by Mumble. This was classic.

Thanks again.

Some threads just never seem to die.

This thread was dead with the OP, but it just can't seem to give its final breath.

Anyone got a sledgehammer?
