Created out of thin...space?

I was playing a game recently, and got to where the only races left were myself, the Torians, Altarians and Drath. Suddenly, the Torians declare war on the Fundamentalists, but there was never an event declaring the formation of the Fundamentalists. Are they always there now, and are only used during periods of war inactivity? What's with the Fundamentalists suddenly appearing out of nowhere?

Is it version 1.4 RC something or other ?

For me there seems to be a bug where important events, like a surrendering AI, don't get posted. (they happen, but quietly)

I've had the Drengin declare war on the Fundamentalists, then later make peace. Needless to say, I never found any Fundamentalists in the game. I'm sure though it was a 1.3 game that it happened to me in. I just chalked it up to a freak glitch because it hasn't happened again.

In 1.4RC I had the last AI surrender to me with nary a wimper. Just all of a sudden, all the planets were mine.

Yeah, been seeing this as well. Declarations of war get announced, but not surrenders.

In the game i was playing, the Areans and Torins decleared war on the terrens in the same turn and the terrens surrendered in the same turn to the Areans, I mean wtf?

It was the last 1.3 version before the 1.4X update. I just played a 1.4 game, and I too did not receive any surrender events at all. Suddenly, the Korx were gone and the Terrans had a bunch of new planets. That made it take twice as long to conquer them.

I had same issue, I was at war with the Korx and all of a sudden next turn, all thier territory belonged to me. No message saying they surrendered. Same game earlier on I had the Yor almost gone and they surrendered to the Korx without any event flag. New game, the Korx surrender to the Drengin, same thing.

On a side note, do the Korx always suck?

In about 95% of the games I play, the Korx are one of the first two civs to be conquered, so, yes, they do suck!

I've played a game as the Altarians where the Korx were doing very well. Then I take their home planet and find a Precursor Library.
