Changing the Placement of Galactic Resources?

How do you move a Galactic Resource to a Planet or Anomaly?

How do you move a Galactic Resource to a Planet or Anomaly? I find it hard to believe that resources besides hydrogen float in space. Is there a way for the game to randomly place these on planets to make them more valuable?

No, they are permanently placed where they spawn at game creation.

u can move them tho, just create a trade route that goes over the resource, get a contructor, build a starbase, and woila!!! moveable resource!!!

I did it last game I had, tho it was 1.31, dont know about 1.4 tho...

And then I suppose redirect the starbase off the trade route?

yes mykuss, but I can tell u, it is not that easy predicting where the trade route will be, so its more luck than anything, cuz if the trade route is a parsec away(not ontop of the resource, but beside it) it will not work. Also I tell you now, the contructor was alone but I had it as a fleet, so that may have something to do with it. I tell you that cuz when I noticed it was on a fleet and I dismantled the fleet, the starbase appeared, what Im tryin to tell you is, put it on a fleet before begining the process, then create the trade route, and if the route is OVER(on top) the resource, then select the contructor, right click on the resource, and a NEW contructor will appear named "Mining Contructor ######", where the #'s are is the ID of the contructor-starbase. You will be able to move it where you want to then construct the starbase somewhere else, effectively "MOVING" the resource.

But DO NOT dismantle the fleet, and DO NOT enter "Fleet Management", this will cause the Mining Constructor to disappear and the starbase will appear where the resource was in the first place.

Hope you understand this whole thing...

Sounds like a cheat/bug/hack to me good find, when is it scheduled to be changed?

It possibly is alrdy fixed on 1.4, that bug I found out by accident on the last game, a research resource was right on the path of a trade route, and when I sent the contructor there, another new contructor named "Mining Contructor" appeared, and I just moved it and planted the starbase somewhere else, the resource was still on the ORIGINAL spot, BUT the Starbase, wich is the important part, was on another place. kinda goofy bug

Some1 did something similar to this a long time ago with another technique on previous patches, but to have moving Economic Starbases instead, where the guy would send a contructor to build the SB and when it got there by chance it ALSO was ontop of a trade route, then he upgraded the contructor to some other ship, but repented and didnt wait till next turn for updated ship and just built the Starbase, then he "accidentally" did a right click and the starbase moved somewhere else. That was pretty kool exploit since you could keep the trade route at peak efficiency by having the Economic SB following the mini-freighter.

Havent downloaded 1.4 cuz im still playin a game on 1.31, so I wont find out for a while...

Ask Kyro if he knows anything about it, maybe he knows when it'll be fixed or something.
