Game stopping problem

First off, I know I need to post the de-bug info, but I can't do that at the moment as I am at work.

In the mean time, I wanted to see if anyone else had had this problem.

My game becomes totaly corrupted and will crash at the end of a turn if while signing a peace treaty I take certain enemy planets as part of the treaty process.

In my last two games I was able to bully enemy empires to give me planets . But doing so corrupts my game and will cause it to crash every time I end a turn.

The last time it happens I was lucky to have an auto save to go back to (though I lost hours and hours of game play progress), and in my new game I save at the end of every turn so that I can go back if I corrupt the game.

My theory is that if I take a planet that has trade routes or if another empire is targeting that planet for a new trade route then it will crash. Though I don't know if this is the only problem. Some planets I can take safely, but others alwasy cause the game to go corrupt.

Right now I have a save right before the peace treaty, and I have been testing it to find the exact problem, but it takes a long time to load these games as it is a gigantic map at the end of the game.

I will post the de-bug info as soon as I can. But in the meant time I was just wondering if anyone else has encounter this problem?

thanks.

I haven't.

But, regarding your save games...

In Options you can set the number between Autosaves. I have mine set to 5, so I am never that far behind if something does go wrong. Then you just have to load the AutoSave.sav file. If that one is corrupt, or you want to go back a bit further just load the PreviousAutoSave.sav file. The files are time stamped as well, so you can see exactly when it was saved.

I also save the game periodically with its own name at key points, like at the end of a long operation that I don't want to repeat - like during a turn during a war after I capture several planets.

Hmm, this is what has happened in my save game. I was far too powerful for the remaining civs, and forced one to offer me planets in return for peace. The game crashed the next turn or two afterwards. I loaded up my last save and managed to successfully negotiate again without the crash, but when I took all but one tiny PQ3 planet from another race for peace, the game crashes at the end of the turn everytime. As I controlled 97% of the world by then, I just gave up. It's definitely the planets in return for peace that seemed to cause the crash.
