Changing your homeworld

Does changing your home world do anything important? or is it just for looks?

Changes base population from 5b to 12b. Changes base manufacturing points from 16 to 24. The home planet also gets a 10% morale bonus.

Interesting, I had never really thought about the impact of doing this, though I knew that you *could*. I'm curious if a lot of people change their homeworld later on in their games, and to use which bonuses? Or does it vary game by game for whatever's needed most?

go to planetary screen and hit 'Details' then it'll pull up a screen with the planet and lots of info, in the bottom corner will be a bottom to set as 'Homeworld'
