Battlefield 2142

I am getting BF2142 tomorrow morning. I am a BF2 veteran add to BF2142 with free weapon unlock and rank, and at Babbages I get another rank and free weapon unlock! Just tell me what ya think. Also I just got my mod Star Wars Warlords downloaded and running again. Also Xbox Box Live is updated tonight too! This is a great week! Only problem was Crackdown for 360 comes out in feb not on oct 17.

Well. At least it wasn't linked to the War on Terror. As the supply crate in CoH says in 1337: EA Sucks.
As for the cheating reason: Yah. There will always be cheating, you just need to monitor your end of it like a fuggin hawk.

Everyone Needs to boycott EA. Everytime a developer has a successful series they buy'em up. Then another great series goes to crap. Atleast that's what I see on the PC side and now spyware. EA can keep it.

Wheel of Fire, this is the second time I've seen you insulting someone out of nowhere, using a personal attack. What the hell, man?

Wow the only ea games I own are burnout revenge, battlefield 2, 2142, Lotrbfme2 so that make me a tard the second I put the disk in wow I think i feel it happening now dee dee dee... lol wow man sorry that I own 4 games from ea is it a crime. I understand that ea has a bad rep on their ways for making games and etc... and now this too add to their plate which I can't understand why is only making it worse. But I still think in my opinion (not offending anyone) that those games are good. Thanks about the spyware though kryo.

The only EA games I've got on my comp atm, are Tiger Woods 2006 - (since it's still the best golf game I've played on the PC so far - (not sure about the 2007 version yet)) - and I'm trying out the NFL head coach game, just to see what it's like - (though I can't buy it here in the UK anyway) - since I'm after a decent football management game (got a bit bored with FM2006 and thought I'd try something different).

Tbh - I tend to do my research before I buy any particular game anyway, (not that I'm interested in the BF series), which is why I bought GalCiv 1 to begin with (then GalCiv 2 ).

heheeh stardock and Relic nows it to(look at COH jeep, 3A5UX5 = EA SUXS = EA SUCKS) note pic). I am Surprised the majority of the population still doesn't. Well i guess EA figures they just spam us with tons and tons of sub standard games, they believe we will eventually think they are the best and keep buying them... not me. Any company that puts spyware in their games(billboards in game with adverts on them), and charges your 50$ to play it... sick sick sick

EA also ruined NBA Live 2007. I mean Ruined. One PC version reviewer (at gamespot i think) reported that the game is unplayable do to all the bugs. I grit my teeth and play it only because there are no other NBA PC games.

I hate games with spyware.

I loved this game (not EA but still sucked) called SuperPower 2 (kinda like galciv2 but only kinda) but its copy-write protection screwed up my CD drive so bad I could no longer play DVD's in it.

I hate starforce...

Once I installed Alcohol to backup Splinter Cell and it freaked my computer, so no more Starforce games for me!!

Good God at least it wont matter anymore , ubisoft and some other company droped it a couple months ago.

Although I agree that spyware is bad, I really just don't see the problem with the stuff in Battlefield 2142.

Start at the beginning - EA putting advertisements on in-game billboards. Big deal. Everybody does it, and unless you're worried about being distracted from your perfect headshot by a McDonald's ad, it has no effect on gameplay. Totally unobjectionable.

The "spyware" is a little more understandable, but it seems to be an overreaction - they put software into the game that finds out what country you live in, and some of the websites you frequent, so that it can provide relevant advertising. Its intended purpose is completely harmless.

An argument could be made that EA might be lying about the purpose of the spyware. On the other hand, contrary to popular opinion, EA isn't actively out to ruin the lives of all gamers in every way possible, just the ways that make them money. What exactly are you worried about, that EA executives are snickering over how many people play Galactic Civilizations II?

That's not to say that we shouldn't all hate EA for being a giant sequel factory, but let's not get overzealous in our criticism.
