If a search of the galciv2 library doesn't turn anything up, it really wouldn't be too hard to make some yourself. Just look up the symbols online, then do a little editing and edit them into the game.

Of course. Religious fanatics (especially christians) are the ones who started most wars in mankind's history. So it's a logical consequence to start off a christian space empire... *rolls eyes*

Now that I think of it the Ori in SG-1 remind me pretty much of the middle-age christians... Any other religions are false and must be eredicated. "Adopt our teachings or die..."

Corn circles and scottish Tartan are christian symbols?

Star adder I wasnt meaning any harm by this post, but as I can clearly see you are. If you would like to insult Christians please dont use a game site to do so, and by the way you cant blame todays loving, charitable, helpful and happy Christians for the dull and grim Christians of the middle ages so four words: "live in the now". Besides that i love your avatar its pretty cool.

no way...do you have any idea how many wars have been fought on this planet. a LOT! and im sure a hell of a lot of them were fought even before christianity was invented.

I actually fell off my chair laughing at that statement.

But other religions have also started wars. It's what religions DO. "We're better than them because we have [Deity/Deities of choice] on our side, so lets go eradicate the nonbelievers!"

Hmm, this forum software needs a "rolling eyes" smiley for times like this...

Do I need to tell you guys to stop the religion-bashing?
No more religion bashing, gotcha.

Can I bash the idiot noachian instead? Come on, he doesn't have a clue what he's talking about. Please?

And for the record, I believe nothing. If it doesn't have a backup of fact, I don't believe it. So you can just stop talking out of your arse. Name one thing the atheists did that matches the religious purges like the Holocaust, or in earlier ages the crusades, or earlier still the destruction of the aztec race.

I point no fingers, I state fact. Get it right, kthxbai2u asshat.

I respect yr authority great Carielf but could not help pointing the following out to Marcathonas.

Communism. All were atheists. Stalin, other communist leaders killed 10's of millions and subjected 100's of millions to economic ruin.

Anyhow lets just ignore the silly atheistic maniacs,,,,so anyone got any religious race logos coz I hopeless with this modding thing can anyone help me.

p.s thanks for pointing out the FACT!!!!!about the communists they are all atheists and kill 100's of millions of Christians because they think they are doing the work of MOTHER EVOLUTION. Hitler killed 12 million Jews because he said he was doing the work of mother evolution and alot of wars (the crusades for example) were done in the name of religion it wasnt actually religion. So theres some facts for ya. Thankyou and goodnight.

It's real simple to make your own logos from photos you get online or anywhere. Just Resize it to 200 x 200 and convert to a .png image(most any photo editing program will do it.). Then insert into the above mentioned folder. Not sure if this helps Good luck

Here is a brown cross on a white background. Just place it in My Documents/My Games/GalCiv2/Logos

(Just for the record, I am also an atheist )

I love the "Okay, I'm not going to continue this argument. P.S. You're wrong, and here's why! ..." posts.

Classic!

What? do you know what the crusades were?

im not saying that christians are bad people at all and i dont mean offense, just that Some christians, and members of other religious faiths have gone over the top at times. yes including athiests, and all have done bad things in the name of their beliefs, but it does in no way reflect the opinions and actions taken by other members of those faiths. so it is wrong to summarise all athiests as evil because of stalin, or all christians as evil because of the crusades.

nor can you blame hitler on atheism.

If you would like to insult Christians ...

I wasn't trying to insult anyone. Just stating that when religious groups have waged wars to convert people and/or annex their land on a planet wide level it is a logical consequence that they would just looove to do the same on space wide level.
So it's no wonder someone came up with the idea of a christian space empire.
Ask yourself: Would you have reacted like this to my comment if someone else would have asked for islamic logos because he wanted to create an empire called "Islamic Jihad" or such? Oh, and atheists are of course maniacs and christians are all nice n all, huh? Aaah, religious bias... You simply have to love it...

And for the record: I am an agnostic, not an atheist.
I tend to follow the teachings of Buddhism and the Book of G'Kar () because I deem them to incorporate good ideas rather than believing in some higher being.

Besides that i love your avatar its pretty cool.

Thanks, but this is just a clan logo of Battletech I found especially appealing.

why is this thread still alive? somebody kill it already.

but while i am here... yay for the book of G'Kar!

G'Kar: If I take a lamp and shine it toward the wall, a bright spot will appear on the wall. The lamp is our search for truth... for understanding. Too often, we assume that the light on the wall is God, but the light is not the goal of the search, it is the result of the search. The more intense the search, the brighter the light on the wall. The brighter the light on the wall, the greater the sense of revelation upon seeing it. Similarly, someone who does not search - who does not bring a lantern - sees nothing. What we perceive as God is the by-product of our search for God. It may simply be an appreciation of the light... pure and unblemished... not understanding that it comes from us. Sometimes we stand in front of the light and assume that we are the center of the universe - God looks astonishingly like we do - or we turn to look at our shadow and assume that all is darkness. If we allow ourselves to get in the way, we defeat the purpose, which is to use the light of our search to illuminate the wall in all its beauty and in all its flaws; and in so doing, better understand the world around us.

... I think I've just been converted to the teachings of G'Kar.

I nearly forgot how awe-inspiringly wise the Narn Ambassador was.

EDIT: Oh, and I believe I am officially a Catholic ('Confirmed' and all that), but I really don't give a damn if there's a God, or if Jesus was or was not His son, or any of that. What matters more is faith in oneself and those around you, not faith in some being that may or may not exist. The human spirit can be a very strong thing - it does not need an external focus if one is truly strong enough.
