Since the First Ones are not implemented as minors, who gets their hulls?

I wanted to say the mod is great! I was however wondering why there are those out there that would want the entire game to be modded to the extent of it no longer really being galactic civ any longer. Mods are great ( I truly believe that they enhance gaming)however the whole idea at least as I have learned, is that the mod is to enhance the game already in existence and not to change the game entirely- that would be a great idea though, to take these mods and create a whole new game separate of the games we are modding so that the original story lines and ideas of the original components arent lost to the game. Any ideas or thoughts on this? As I did say, I love the mods and think they do enhance but shouldn't change the game to where the original is no longer part of the game.

OK, update I am having a problem, not with Star Democracy, but with the planet flags on the main screen. I noticed early on in the game that the production flags on the planets would blink on and off as I colonised nearby worlds. Now I am having a problem with the red pirate flag not comming on for worlds who have 4+ influence ratio unless I go to the view planet screen for that particular planet. Some races seem to be worse at this than others.

Hello!

Its a great Mod! I have played the Shadows and there is a little problem: I can research die greatest Ship hull but im not able to build it... but after i captured the human Shipdesign after an Invasion i could build the Colossus!

in the tech description it is said that this tech works only for EA, Vorlons and Drakh.
shadow planet killer isnt in the mod.

the shadow planet killer wasn't really a ship was it? looks like it will be possible to turn planets toxic with the expansion. looking through info about the expansion and it looks like there will be heaps of cool additions that will translate really well to the b5 universe

the scaling of some models is still not perfect btw. are there any more ships left to import? already over 100 in the mod but if i can think of a few missing then i am sure there are some freaks who can think of a few more

technomage ship, thirdspace capital, thirdspace fighter, psi corps command ship, stribe cruiser...

coplann was working on the earthforce/shadow hybrids right?

correct, but it never made it to a full scale production. only 3 units were created.
by the way shadow planet killer is ship. controlled by AI(if i`m not wrong). you can see it in a film called A Call to Arms. planet isn`t tunring toxic. the core of it just explodes.

Taelon I hope you've had some luck by now!

Scintor I have no idea what is going on with the planet flags in your game but it doesn't sound mod related.

Truckdrivinmama, I don't really have any plans to modify the social and economic aspects of gc2 as it would make the mod too out of sync with the current version of gc2 and probably have a bad impact on the ai. Except for trade goods, buildings will always mirror the current version of gc2.

Eclipse, I've only managed to find one Dilgar ship model (Heavy Cruiser) so their chances of becoming a major are slim. At the moment the best case scenario is that the expansion pack makes it possible to mod random events and I can throw in a few rogue Dilgar Cruisers

Yes, but I think all the ones that have easily imported textures are already done. The only new major I expect to get a full fleet for is Clark's evil earthforce. All the other misc ships (like the psi corps command ship) won't really shine until I can mod random events anyway... or build up the stamina for having a go at creating custom scenarios

Is anyone in addition to BIG MTG having problems with invisible Vree ships? That does sound like a typo in the shipcfgs - I will investigate when I get home next week.

And yes, it looks like the Vorlons and Shadows need a pretty hefty boost. I think you have the right idea Gollum Grey - they need to be able to build at the same rate as races with far more worlds.

I just typed Dilgar Empire In google..I will see if I can find more.Dilgar Sekhmet looks awsome..there must be some information about other ships they used...

but the site itself is absolutly fantastic. i never thought that sience(fiction) could be such interesting.
and, yes this site is a `must see`.

I've been playing as the shadows for some time now and I have the following sugg's(I think these apply to the vorlons also):
- try giving them more influence...I cant play more than 20-30 turns without the freakin mimbari puttin the slap down on me.
- Make the alignment less evil...if i remember correctly the show was really law vs chaos more than good vs evil anyway. Being all the way over at one end of the spectrum really hogties the vor/shadows.
- Give them some more tech/racial bonuses to start.
-instead of a colony ship start them out with the class 42? planet plus maybe a class 10 and 1-2 class 4-6's.

Theres really a number of things u can do...i won once w/shadows at suicidal level, but it was because of influence which shot off the chart for some reason. I didnt feel win was legit..

anyway, love the mod...sporespaxs pack works great w/it...cant wait to play update. Thanx for all your hard work.

Skaiger..oh man, I almost fainted when I saw those!They look soo awsome!!! Thanks for the link... Only bummer is they were made in Lightwave..I just started dabbeling in 3dsmax...hope i can find some tutorials...

I know that many of those ships were not in series, but Babylon5 universe dont stop with ending of the series.In my eyes they are still legitimate part of vast Babylon 5 universe...These models could vastly improve mod...Some minors can even strive to be major, Brakiri, Drazi and Vree I can defenetly see as major species...will be fun to see what options Dark Avatar brings, as I hate rush colonisation!

One observation I made in my last game as Lyta and her "New First Ones" was that although this time I set all AIs to tough, and most of em did quite well, the Centauri got the short end for the third consecutive game. Especially concerning military force although they had acquired a good number of worlds.
Somehow it looks like Rav tried to tame the usual Drengin agressiveness in the mod.
Rav, can you confirm that, or is it just coincidence?

I have a problem, i played the mod, its nice but sence theres only 1 core ship(colony) the AI only make colony ships, is there a way to make core ships for the other race, so i can really play the game?

I dont know bout AI making only colonies...ive seen plenty of everything else, but as a player, you have to build (from your shipyard) any construcor/freighter ships from scratch.
select cargo hull...go to modules...then either trade or constructor.

i think AI himself decides what ship should he do. the problem is he loves to creat lots of colony ships. the only thing you can do is to create colony ships of your own or to start a war instantly as you start the game.
i think AI does not need any core ship at all, he creates anything he wants or needs.
P.S. no i will not say that i`m a moron(maybe i am, who knows ), i just wanted to say that i`m owfully sorry for my mistakes, i`m not even close to know english as good as i want to .

No way. I think an economy boost would help them - they seem to do well in games I've played where they get trade going well (not often!).

AI ship design has been one of the most difficult parts of this mod, and it's something I wanted to do right... it is a single player game. Cari's modding guide is all gold and has been THE source of information for how the game works! The only thing missing is a bit of detail on... and look what I just noticed... awesome.

Any and all ship models will be added to the mod. There are probably another 50 cool designs out there - just a question of how many have been made in some form that can be converted to .X files . The only small question would be about how true to canon the AI ships would appear. Perhaps (rebel?) minors of majors could use the less significant ships?

Thanks for the suggestions General Varro, very helpfull information! I will greatly increase the influence abilities and homeworld sizes of the Vorlons and Shadows in the next version. Massive bonuses all round for the gods I reckon
