How lucky is that?

I started a game and chose the bonus +25% luck, as there seems to be a lot of luck involved in the game mechanics. As expected, I found a few nice anomalies at the start. What suprised me was, within about 20 turns, my people found 5 Precursor Ranger dreadnaughts. Pretty cool, as my current top-of-the-line ship was a tiny hull with one lazer on it. Alas, they were not enough to stem the tide of Torian battleships.
Anyway, luck seems to be a big factor in some ways. Has anyone else had any unlikely runs of luck?

Yes, I find luck to be an amazing steal at only one point. Precursor starships, events, planet bonuses, anomalies.. seems like everything is affected by this, and in a very noticeable way. Play 10 games without it and 10 games with it, and I think anyone will notice a pretty big difference.

First time I cranked Luck up to max with the Political party and the race ability, I was able to get a precursor mine on my home world,(very rare for me) and raked in several 2500bc anomolies. Now I always keep at least 25% luck in all games.

Is luck still good on Masochistic and above? It seems like a lot of random evens simply don't happen on those difficulties.
