B5 Mod 0.4 Gameplay Example

This is half a gameplay example of the Babylon 5 mod. There are a few things that need tidying up (and I need to finish this game!), but 0.4 should be up within 10 hours. The default custom race starts with all the hull techs. If you don't want your shipyard to be cluttered just remove any undesired hull techs.


Lyta has had enough of the bs and taken over Edgars Industries... the galaxy is next. There are lots of new custom portraits to choose from and a few logos. Obviously the Rangers need a better logo


Starting positions look like this:


The Vorlons go for the hull plating trade good early (really annoys me when I don't get that!) and take out their buddies. They seem to be mostly talk though as the best fleet I can see belongs to the Humans:


A bit more scouting and I notice the Centauri have a nasty fleet of fighters:


Without modding the speech files I think the races fit pretty well:


The Rangers are touching up my minor trading partners so I end up in a long war with them:


The Narn Regime uses the opportunity to settle old scores:


And all the nice races decide to be nasty to me at once:


Making the diplomacy screen look very familiar.


So as I am about to be wiped out I am going to concentrate... take over this galaxy... make some final tweaks... take over another galaxy... and release version 0.4 of the B5 mod.

@ Rav:

If you go only with what the series says, defense tech is almost minimal (I can only remember of the EA interceptors, stopping missiles, torpedoes & even pulse weapons!) But If you are willing to broaden your sources, there is a few nice B5 boardgames that are out that can help. I am thinking of B5 Wars & B5:A call to arms. I got a few of those so I could help you out if you are interested. Many more nice goodies in there

BTW, great mod you have. I canèt wait to see what is next.

hell yes!

babylon 5 and startrek release threads are stickied at the top of the mod forum and there are other mods in the library

As far as I can see, the B5 mod I have is the 0.3 version. I am trying 0.4 right now, and I will pass on the results. I hope this mod will work!

Did you change the set mod folder in galciv2 to the new folder containing the 0.4 mod stuff?

If all fails...your save game files under my games shouldn't be affected..but copy it to somewhere else. Uninstall and reinstall galciv2 and babylon5 o.4 mod.

0.4 been out since october...so no one really goes back here to read anymore.

Personally, the 0.4 mod is a huge disadvantage for shadows and vorlons.

Go into the games options, you'll see a box that mentions mods. You have to select the option asking the game to use the mods folder. Then at the bottom of that section, you'll see a browse button, select it, and a window will open with a list of the mods that you have placed into the Mod folder in the game install directory. Select B5 as the one you want, and then it will ask you to quit and restart the game. Once you've done that, you should have the B5 mod activated... and then start new game, and experience Joy.

Sorry if someones done this already... I'm too lazy to read the whole thread.
