Frequent Crashes in Windows Vista RC1

Hi,

I'm running Gal Civ II under Windows Vista RC1. Installation went smoothly after I ran from setup.exe, and I've been playing for about 4 hours. Now the system hangs -- turn button disappears, and nothing happens -- waited up to 20 minutes on one occurence. Task Manager lists Gal Civ II as Not Responding. I've tried loading an earlier save, and the results are the same after a few turns.

I know that Vista is beta, and that I can't post debug.err, but I would really appreciate any suggestions for things to try. This seems like a great game and I'm really looking forward to being able to play it.

System Specs:
Windows Vista RC1 x86 Build 5600
AMD64 3000+ (S754 Newcastle)
Asus K8n Nforce 3 250GB
1 GB Corsair Value Select
EVGA 7600 GS (AGP) 256MB running Forceware 96.33 drivers for Windows Vista
FSP 350W PSU

Thanks in Advance

As the drivers and such are not fully mature, let alone the OS itself, we don't yet support GC2 under Vista. The devs have run it themselves as have some others with no problems, but there are just too many variables to try offering support for it at this time.

Why anyone would even bother posting about this is beyond me, you shouldn't plan on playing games using a beta OS. What were you thinking?

@ eride:

What was I thinking?

1. That a forum post is about sharing experiences with issues that we've solved. I looked at other threads where people were running successfully with Vista Beta 2, not RC1 and may have encountered and subsequently fixed similar problems.

2. I'm successfully playing Half-Life 2 and Episode 1, Guild Wars, Far Cry, Counter-Strike and Halo. Why not try GalCiv2?

3. I heard a lot about the great support from both Stardock and the forum members, so posting seemed like a good idea.

Hopefully you're just one rude jackass and not representative of the community at large.
