A Thread for the Girls

A Female Haven

In this very male-orientated world of strategy gaming, I thought it would be nice for us women to have their own little space to discuss the game, away from the male bravado and show-boating.

So talk here, I am very interested to see how many women play GalCiv II.

There are girls who play this game?

I know one girl that plays the game: CariElf, the lead developer.

Yeah, what stab said. Come on, quit fooling us. You're not really female.

Well then maybe the community needs some girls. I know plenty of Girls who play the Master of Orion series. Go con some girls from Atari to come over here by getting them interested in purchasing a game of GalCiv2.

next of all they'll be wanting to vote and have the same high powered jobs as men

Come on now. What woman would want to waste her time conquering sprites and polygons on a little itsy bitsy computer screen. You ladies are all about utilizing your time for the most productive output achievable! LOL. I'm sure there are quite a few girls playing. Maybe this game just doesn't consume them like it does to us guys. Can you say "testosterone builder". Hmmmm, just had a thought of seven foot tall Amazon women chasing me through the jungle.....

Aloriel used to hang out here, and she's female.  There are some others too.

Thats why my empires always run with clockwork efficiency, lol. I think it might just be that the female geek is an oh-so-rare species. I also know a lot of girls who in their game's communities wont admit being female for fear of ridicule.

Lets just face it guys, the girls would own the guys if their was a multiplayer, hehe

I dont know, ive lost many nights sleep playing, hehe.

Actually,
I never saw a girl interested in boy stuff like duel masters, FIFA, World cups, Football(soccer football not american football) or computer games. Well, not computer games atleast.

In fact in my entire life of existance I never saw a girl play a computer game except 10 or so times(which includes my sister at mamamedia.com).
Its very unlikely there would be girls on this forum. But the best way to search is by making a carrier post. (JUST KIDDING) a post on which you ask people about their gender. There was one like it by prefekt:

Link:
How old are you?

Oh, How I love football(FIFA FOOTBALL. The one england plays. That should clear up everything).

You're 12. Your life experience doesn't mean all that much, tbh.

I've know about 30 girls that play computer games, and I have a horrific memory of when the girls football team challenged us to a match. After all our talking ourselves up, showing off, bragging, they absolutely trashed us. This was when I was about 13-14.

Also, a hell of a lot of men dislike the FIFA series, because it's a very shoddy series of games.

Hence the age old adage, keep you eyes and ears open and... you know the rest. Looks like us guys aren't wasting any time invading your "all girls" clubhouse, lol. Sorry for the intrusion ladies.Guys, cmon, let's leave them alone to do all of those "girly things" that they like to do when we aren't around.

That doesnt always work though. I know quite a few girls with quite deep guy-ish sounding voices.

Your quite welcome as long as you admit to the natural superiority of the female species, lol

A shameless Plug. I am the emperor of the B C Space Orcas empire. We are in a close battle with the Diplomats for top spot in the metaverse. We are in great need of a person of your obvious talents. You seem to take the provocation of others with a grain of salt, and quickly come back at thir remarks with intelligent retorts. Join our empire and you may even save a whale or two. Hope to see you in our website chatroom soon. Bye for now, TBAY

I know that there are girls who play GC - my wife recently spent a good chunk of a weekend achieving an influence victory as the Drath. From what I've seen, 4X games are just as addictive to both genders...

And for what it's worth, I was introduced to the GC series by a girl. She used to play GCI, though I don't know if she ever picked up CGII.

My wife plays, she just doesn't visit the forums, so I'll speak up for her. And she's quite deadly in other games too. One of our very macho male friends has an infamous quote of, "I don't want to play against her, I'll slaughter her!" before playing a 1v1 RTS game with her. He lost. He lost bad. No contest bad. It was very amusing.

All right. Enough is enough. All the boys out of the pool. This is the girls swim time. Besides, what women most talk about when there are no men present, is men. If you're smart, you'll shut up and merely lurk like the rest of us.

Elerians from Master of Orion.

Apologies if anyone takes offense to this. But the Elerians were a badass matriarchal warrior society with some sort of omniscience due to advanced mental abilities (they essentially had the whole galaxy 'explored' from the start- systems they actually had not visited were denoted by their names enclosed in brackets).

Not me...

I was trying to help you out here. Work with me.

A dedicated women's thread seemed like a reasonable thing to have. But not much point if all but 5 of 26 posts are from men (or should I say boys).
