Now why on God's green earth would I release a model that you couldn't do something with?

Of course you can use the model in the game just make sure you read the readme file before asking anymore questions.

Because the model isn't meant to be viewed directly. Assumably you'd add a hull entry that references it in GC2Types.xml, or edit a shipcfg for a design to point to it.

A crazy thought wandered through my head...

Stargate doesn't have that many individual ship classes. You've got three Tau'ri hulls, three Goa'uld hulls, and one or two hulls for the Ori, the Wraith, and the Asgard. That's hardly mod-worthy material.

But when you think about it, the hull design in the Stargate universe is very modular - the Daedalus is basically the Prometheus, but with some extra jewelery slapped on. Why not take full advantage of the ship design feature by creating a library of hulls and components?

kryo, and republic of cats, you can download the microsoft DirectX SDK from microsoft's website and install it. It comes with a dirextX .x file viewer. it will open any .x file in a model viewing window. I find it very useful when modding the game b/c i can check that everything looks right after i've converted to .x format.

to the creator of the deadalus model, i don't suppose you could tell me what high detail version you based your model on? i'd love to know.

Hey, i'm new to modding, ive just edited and customized so far. I downloaded the daedalus, but dont really know how to use it in game. Does it need to be in a precise location or do i need to change some other things? Cool pics though

im glad to see more stargate fans out there   but i cant download the mods and i would love this ship to be in my game is there anyway i could design it myself??

well i cant actually open the zip folder so cant get the readme file

If you are using WindowsXP compression is built in to the OS.

All you have to do is right-click the file and choose "Extract All...", choose a folder and follow the prompts.

And it treats the zip file as a folder, as you just indicated. You can double click the file to open it, then you can drag-and-drop the files from that window to any regular folder you wish and they will be copied in their extracted form.

TOTALLLLLY awesome mate. My SG1 and Atlantis are my 2 fav progs on tv .... erm actually .... the only progs worth watching for me. I'm a newbie here and wondered if anyone could help/show me the way to download this beautiful craft??

I am also a 3ds max and Gmax modeller (mainly combat flight sim stuff at the mo), but would love to get my teeth into some of this stuff one day.

An idea, Aliens Sulaco and the dropship maybe (unless already done).

Have been thinking of building the dropship for some time.
