Problem running the game

when I run the game, my screen turned blank(black screen), then the GalCiv cursor appear, the whhole screen stayed in such a way for about 4 to 5 second and then it goes back to my XP desktop.


My hardware spec, 512Mb RAM, ATI Radeon 9250, 128MB memory.

Copy and paste the contents of your Debug.err file, which should be located in C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2 (assuming the default install folder) into the reply box. (you can open the file with Notepad)

That should give some indication of what is happening.

From the sound of it however, you may have installed a new video card and left the motherboards onboard video enabled in the BIOS. That can cause this kind of problem.

First off, patch up to 1.31 (it is available on Stardock Central or the downloads page of the site here), and update your video drivers. You can find new drivers at ati.com.

I thought GC2 had to run in 32bit. The debug is showing 16bit. May want to change that also.

Gc2 requires a 32 bit color depth
