Metaverse score

how do they do it?

Ok i just finished a metaverse game
crippling, 9 oppononts, biggest galaxy and around 220 planets to divide.
i got just over 40K scores.

how do people get 300K scores, i even saw people who were also playing on crippling getting way higher scores than me, how do they do it?
i had 2M cash and 1.4 T population.

Since the release of 1.31 it should be nearly impossible to get such a high score again as the exploit to do this was removed.

Can still get over 100K and higher. You need more population, most games that are at 100K or higher have over 2.x T population. You also need to start building military as early as possilbe since that componet socre is bassed totally on the military rating. Max spending on Tech for higher Tech score. Cash is not what builds the econ score, otherwise you could save yourself to a good score.

Is there a record largest population for a submitted Metaverse game? I couldn't find detailed online stats on player performance points, just general scores.

I just posted my 2nd Metaverse game, in which I scored 99500! It was on a gigantic map, 9 major and 2 minor incredible AI opponents (Masochistic), everything abundant, and very fast research. I completed the game with 2.6T people on Dec. 15, 2227, so it counted as only 2 yrs. My first Metaverse game scored 61250 and was completed on Dec. 15, 2229, so was counted as only 4 yrs. This puts me in position 48! Too bad there isn't a medal for top 50!

For 1.2, not sure about 1.3x versions at this point.

Scoring appears to be a cumulative stat. So basically you want to get your stats high as early as possible. For me, the majority of my points come from military and economy. Out of ~165K points in my last game, I think they where each about 50K points.

On scoring points from the economy...

1) This seems to be based on your income, not your wealth.
2) There is a significant penalty on your income, if your cash balance is over 20K at the end of a turn. So, make sure you spend your cash down to under 20K at the end of each turn.
3) Mind Control Center was buggy and actually added 100% to your economy, instead of helping alien defections. In my opinion, this bug makes evil the most valuable race for points (over neutral and NLC)

On scoring points from the military...
1) Spend that extra cash on ships!
2) I think a spin control center might actually help for your military score as well as how your enemies see you. Have not confirmed that.
3) If you reach a point where you are building ships that you will not use in offensive actions, build them without engines. You can squeeze more weapons on them and they are worth more points for the production value...Drop the shields as well, if they will not go into battle.

In general…
1) Abundant everything. I think the game is easier to conquer, also you have more planets.
2) As large of a map as you can stand…Increasing planet count again.
3) Difficulty level is a minor bonus, but it is a bonus.
4) As fast of tech as you can stand. The faster the tech, the larger your absolute economy, military, etc.
5) Fully developing galactic resources is top priority.
6) Fiddle with your racial stats and political bonuses. Drath are the best. Clear the counters and put points into areas that do not receive native bonuses. I prefer Pop growth, Economy and Social production for racial and Social/Military production for political.
7) It’s a misnomer that population improves your score. It only seems to improve it as it affects your economy. One farm and then head off into either more industrial sectors, stock markets or cultural centers…
8) You can also improve your score by "playing" past the end of the game in most cases. but this is somewhat boring...

I’m sure there is more, but that all I can think of, off the top of my head.

I think this as well. I always score more points for military, when I have it, with 10 powerful ships in orbit. Can anyone confirm?

Does it score the ships for 3X there attack lvls?

Also do yr ships score more for being parked in orbit, rather than open space at game end? U get a slight increase in stats when in orbit.

Ships in orbit get a bonus on their weapons and defense levels. It does translate to a higher overall military rating. So, just before you end your game, put all your ships in orbit for a higher military score. It's not going to make a big difference, but if you're trying to eek out every point you can, it helps.

I dont' believe the spin control center actually increases your military rating. It merely increases the military rating perceived by the other races. Not positive about that, but fairly sure. What really boosts the hell out of your military rating is the military mining resources. A couple of those fully developed will double it.
