A partial comparison of 1.2 and 1.3

I realize that 1.31 is out but I doubt they did any rebalancing--just bug smashing.

Here is part of the reason that 1.3 is harder on the economy and morale. Not the whole story.

I've been looking at 1.3 and 1.2 xml file for plantet improvements.
For morale buildings, first the 1.3 bonus, then 1.2 bonus:
Entertainment Network 5, 25
Multimedia Center 10, 30
Extreme Stadium 15, 45
Zero G 20,50
Virtual Reality 25, 60

Costs are the same apparently.

Economic improvements for 1.3 and 1.2
Market Center 8, 10 Costs: 30, 35
Adv Market Center 10, 15 Costs: 40, 60
Trade Center 15, 20 Costs: 50, 90
Bank 20, 24 Costs 250, 100
Stock 25, 30 (morale improves 10,10) Costs 120, 150

I hope I have these right. I have a copy of the 1.2 planetimprovement.xml if
anyone would like to have it sent to them.

I also want to look at the tech tree costs. Also what are the maintenance costs per planet and per ship?

I'll be interested if there any changes in any of these 1.31.

Interesting. The Mid and End Game are pretty tough with the new Economy.

Rember that pre 1.3 it was pretty easy to Update old ships to newer versions. In 1.3 now, its actually easier to just build new ones, and dump the old ones.

only depends on how you play.

My economy seriosly never got to over 10k. But somehow now it does every game (near the end though) idk how but this whole thing about it being tuffer makes me play better. I recomend everyone to play tough and higher to get the comp. full ai. Can sometimes learn form them.

I'm not too sure how everyone is having so much trouble with the economy...just finished a gigantic map with 6 opponents, and I only went into the red once.

And that was WITH getting declared on relatively early and a crash ship building program. I will say that I was 'only' playing on challenging, but I did not have much more trouble than usual. *shrug* I guess this new economy model just works well for my playing style.

Bank 20, 24 Costs 250, 100
Stock 25, 30 (morale improves 10,10) Costs 120, 150

Hmm, are these number right? Being the most powerful building in the queue, Stock Markets shouldn't be cheaper than the Banks, right?

But no, I don't want to nerf the Stock Market's other values.

In 1.2 banks cost 250 with +24 econ and stock markets cost 150 with +30 econ & +10 morale & +5 influence
In 1.3 banks cost 100 with +20 econ and stock markets cost 120 with +25 econ & +10 morale & +5 influence

brycej has the banking center costs for 1.2 and 1.3 reversed.
It's 1.2 and earlier that the banking centers didn't make any sense.

The econ building techs doubled in costs from 1.2 to 1.3 except for stock exchanges that went from 800 RP to 2000 RP -- still a realitively cheap tech tree

There are other things going on with the economy in 1.3 too -- the tax income starts out at 90% of what it was in 1.2.
However, I checked tax income with 10B - 17B on most of my planets and it was more than expected from the basic tax income equations.
Very strange -- use to go down -- now it starts down and goes up ( relative to the basic equation )

makes sense that the final building costs more then an earlier building.
your getting more, therefor should cost more.
Thats why the NLC costs the most.

brycej,

You transposed the 2 cost #'s in the OP.

Bank 20, 24 Costs 250, 100

Should have been

Bank 20, 24 Costs 100, 250

NP, easy to do.....
