The Yor get miniaturization bonus, but you cant get it?

It's a natural bonus. Most races have some bonuses in amounts you can't select, though they're usually at least in abilities that you can select. Miniaturization was intentionally left out of the selectable abilities by the devs. One other race does have a miniaturization ability as well, though not as powerful as the Yor.

If you want though you can mod the game to give another race a minitaurization bonus or make it selectable, but you can't play on the metaverse with those changes. The example mod that came with 1.2 includes such changes.

It's a special racial bonus like their 100% loyalty bonus. You can create a custom race with this bonus if you like. Or try playing the Thalans, who get a +15%

Yep, I knew that, had the game for a while. Im trying to change the files for custom races but it for some reason wont let me do anything?

It will. You just have to delete the config file you made of the race. My docs/my games/galciv2/all the race name files, delete, and it's clear.

I just deleted RaceConfig, but it still wont let me change. What file exactly is it that i need to alter/delete? (btw I didnt delete it just in case ill need it, moved it to the trashcan). I also noticed the game crashes to desktop before you get to the main menu when you delete this file, so I've added it.

And I just realized there were two separate folders - I thought you meant whatever folder I installed it in (stupid me).

And now it still doesnt work... I've deleted all reconfig files except drenging, terrans and a custom race which I dont use and will delete now. Whats wrong?

Do NOT delete C:\Program Files\Stardock\Totalgaming\GalCiv2\Data\English\RaceConfig.xml. The game needs that one to run....

The files you need to delete are located in My Documents\My Games\GalCiv2 and will have names like TerranAlliance.raceconfig. Deleting these won't hurt the game, they just save the customizations you've made in-game to the default races. You can edit the files to customize them, or delete these and go edit RaceConfig.xml directly. If you edit Raceconfig.xml, you must delete these in order for the changes there to take effect, since these files override RaceConfig.xml.

Thats what I've been trying to do now: delete all those files (except the saved games, do I need to delete those too?) but I still cant get to edit the RaceConfig... Are you sure its not that 'Prefs' file?
