Dissappearing planetary improvements

I had built every improvement I wanted to build on Earth and chose the option to "Build nothing" and concentrated on other planets. Next time I checked on planet Earth to see why approval rating was so low I noticed that every single improvement I had built had disappeared.
What happened, is this a bug ? Or a game "feature" ? I'm playing version 1.2.

I'd suspect that its a bug, never had it happen though. But I do find the approval ratings to go disturbingly low even though you build 2-3 entertainment facilities, and im not talking the basic ones.

The only "Build nothing" option I am aware of is in the starship construction screen - the one you select when you don't want to build any more ships on a planet.

When I don't want to build any more planetary improvements, I just don't select anything new to build.

Could it be a translation issue? Your handle looks Finnish, saakutarallaa - do you play the English language version?

Are you sure you built them, or did you only have them queued up to be built?

I'm playing English language version. And yes I had the improvements finished, I could build a colony ship in 5 weeks. When the last improvement was finished I left it at "Building nothing".
Unfortunately I got so upset that I deleted that game and started a new one. Maybe if I had saved and then loaded again...

You started a new game, for 4-6 buildings, BRILLIANT!!!!

You coudlve bought them, if you were far enough into the game you probably would have a big ass economy. That is, if you were building industrial sectors, they are expensive, but for morale buildings, well you could buy 3 basic moral buildings for less than 1500 in 3 turns, that is 500 or less for each 1. I dont see why would you do that, care to elaborate what happened to your CIV??

Well when I get upset by my computer I tend to do hasty decisions.
Anyway I wasn't that far in the game (playing with the easy settings, I'm a newcomer to this game, 4 weeks or so).
I usually start by building 2-3 factories depending on bonus squares, then research, marketplace and entertainment (I usually buy just the first factory). As I wrote earlier those improvements were finished and I had moved on to developing other promising planets when I had this setback.
I have filed this incident under "newbie messups", if I find out what I did wrong or if I manage to recreate the situation then I'll return to this subject.
