1.3 where are the minor races gone ?

nahh... My current gigantic has three. Must just be a fluke thing.

In some games they don't show up, in others they are all over the place. It is random. But I have had them in my 1.3 games.

I don't know the word "fluke" can you explain, please ?

i mean i do know each of these word, but i don't get the meaning altogether.

Is it bad or good a "stroke of luck" ?

It neither bad nor good- its more a "despite of" kinda luck thing

An event that happens rarely or the odds are against it hapenning at all.

They are there. A bit unusual not to find at least one though.

i gotta go with jim on this one.....In around 6 to 7 games since 1.3 i have not seen 1 minor race...and all these games were on maps no smaller than huge.....

I figured it was a small bug but sibce you guys have seen them i guess im just stuck in a rut......

sometimes the minor races just pop up in mid game. I've had games (version 1.2 and 1.3 betas) where there aren't any minors at first and then later a whole bunch of them appear.

But normally there is often at least one minor race in the galaxy for every game and even if the minor race was destroyed, you would still have gotten the 'race has been defeated' movie.

Also, are you sure that the no minor races option isn't checked in the new game setup? It could have been turned on or left on by accident.

I've played three games with huge maps and have explored the whole map. Not one minor race in any of the games using update 1.3.

Disable Minor Races has not been mistakenly checked in the Galaxy Setup screen?

Well, so far in this game I have met 3 minor races. So it is not broken in 1.3A.

"Disable minor races" was the first point i look at before asking my question, of course !

The 'stroke of luck' term is out of the dictionary (from one of the 3 usages of the word 'fluke'). A good online english dictionary is www.m-w.com

The usage here is maybe better termed: The occurrance of an event with a low probabability of occurrance.

Of course, since we aren't the programmers, this is our perception of the situation.

At least i met the dark yor, then the andians and paulos and suddenly the vegans also appeared !

So, i understood it is an event may happen or not, sometimes with 1.2 and often with 1.3.
