The Federaton & Species 8472 Encounter

It is my duty tonight to inform you of a very dangerous threat to our system. Species 8472 has been noticed in the Alpha quandrant, and their prescence here has increased at a very alarming rate. I submit these images salvaged from one of our Galaxy Star Ships as proof that their threat is growing, and as the Federation, a "protector" for the species in the Alpha quandrant, we must act quickly.

We recovered this portion, which we believe was taken immediately after our ships entered into the sector.


I'm sure the Captain and crew of these vessels knew this to be an omnious sign of danger...

Our records indicate that this recovered portion takes place shortly after the space battle had begun...The hostile ships immediately began their attack on our vessels, attempts to hail them were left unanswered...it became clear these ships had no intentions of making peace.


As you will see, the battle grew more and more dangerous as it went on, as the Species showed no care for life, ours or their own. This next part was taken after a near collission with one of their massive Bioships.


Realizing they could not win this fight, the starships made a smart choice to try and retreat to a safer area.


This though proved to be a moot point, as the incredible speed of the enemy ships allowed them to give pursuit, and keep firing.


Knowing they could not outrun these ships, the brave Captains and crews reengaged the bioship.


As the fire fight continued, it became obvious that even the four Galaxy class vessels dispatched to investigate these bioships were no match for the fleet that awaited them.


After an intense battle, I am sorry to report, we lost four crews...I will end my debriefing of this report here for now, I am afraid I have many families to report the death of their love ones before I will be able to get any rest tonight.

Funny...I seem to recall Species 8472 kicking the crap out of the Borg, and remaining on friendly terms with the Federation. I guess that's also a moot point. Nice pictures, though.

they were never friendly terms, in one of the voy eps, they were planning on influtrating star fleet command

8472 hates all... humans were able to defend thenselves better than the borg, because without being able to assimalate, borg could learn nothing.

Voyager signed a peace treaty with them, hench they are on friendly terms with the Federation.

Drij is correct, Species 8472 was actually in planning to infiltrate and wage war on the Federation, Voyager was able to negotiate a piece treaty with them by offering the nanoprobe warheads they helped develop with the Borg in order to help the Borg defeat Species 8472 so they could get safe passage through the Northwest Passage (highly active Borg space)... Janeway hoped by offering them the nanoprobes they would be able to adapt their vessels. Not all peace treaties stay intact though...

Besides, the Klingons and the Federation had a alliance till the Klingons wanted to take over Cardassia....things can change in a microsecond..

yep, very true, anyhow this is still gal civ 2, who knows the roms could be best buddies with the Borg, 8472 can be holding hands with the klingons, and the feds could be sipping on some rootbeer with the domion.

Wow, this thread is OLD! I since we'll be releasing a new version soon I updated the pictures to give anyone who hasn't played the mod a chance to see some pics of a battle. (Plus, I like this thread)
