Civil Wars

I think this game is great. It could use one improvement. There needs to be civil wars or any other kind of wars that could split an empire in half. That way you can defeat all the other races and still have an enemy to face. Still, it is just an idea.

There are various random events already in the game that will cause AIs to change personality, flip alignments, or split into splinter factions (even your own empire, if you're evil).

It's a simple random event, happens not often and only 1/game. What would be great is to see multi-cultural opinions within my empire, and struggle to either keep them with me, or simply enfore military law to keep them in check.

Something that would be great to enjoy when you have conquered 60% of the galaxy, is to see that it's only the beggining.. And a civil war now tear appart what you fought so hard to build...

(not forgetting that the now-rebel AI will use YOUR ships, YOUR techs and YOUR planets-build against you)

although in DA, there will be the Drengin and the Korath, which are an offshoot of the drengin, amd the regular drengin are fighting this new faction called the Korath (who are drengin offshoots). So there will be a civil war of sorts in the expansion.

As for the random events like the I-League and the Fundamentalists, I've never seen them take more than a few planets and most of the time only one, and they are never particularily strong.

For the civil war idea, I would imagine more along the lines of internal fighting and an empire would split into two or more groups.
