Are you using a mod? If so, go into the Options from the Main menu, deselect the "Use Mods" option and Quit the game. Then restart and see if it works.

You should know by now, Master U...

Post your debug!

yep, that's what I should do... no matter I got it fixed, it was the customplanets.xml modding that caused that problem... something with getting Saturn more real (mean ring and textures..)

thanks anyway..

Master U,

If you are modding main files and begin to have a problem, how do you expect anyone to be able to suggest anything worthwhile if you don't tell us what you have been doing?

You flat out said you were not using mods, then turn back around and say that it was your modding of a file that caused the problem.

That my friend, is using mods, even if not the mod folder.

that's becasue I didn't know what was the problem first, and then I replaced all the files with the original and figure it out that it was the customplanets.xml modding you got it?

I got it the first time.
My point was, which you seem not to get, it that you said no mods were in effect, when in fact they were.

Whether you realized what the problem was or not is not the issue.
The issue is giving false information and expecting some kind of useful help from it.

You got it?

oh! but I don't use the mods folder, I got backup, I always mod the original files...

sorry and thank you all anyway!

I also mod the original files, but that does not mean we are not using a mod.
Modding is simply altering the game from original specs.

It might help you track down similar problems if you rename/copy the original to, for example, CustomPlanets.xml.old. That way you can simply delete your modded version and rename the original for a quick test.
And if you copy the modded versions to a separate folder as a backup, if the original did not fix the problem you can copy the modded version back in without having to recreate it.

It saves the time of reinstalling the entire game.

I did a reinstall of the entire game a couple of times... I didn't backup those days.. I even got a post about "can you please help me I didn't backup my titleback.png.." and for the class_20.png map... but in that post, no one answered...

Well, once you do a full install you could always copy the entire game folder to a different location. Then you won't have to worry about backing up individual files, and a reinstall is a simple drag and drop to overwrite everything with the original stuff. And you will have the added benefit of having the individual files handy as well, in case you only need one or two.

that's what I did.. I didn't want to replace the techs but that was one of my last options so I replaced the customplanets.xml files with the original and it worked! I thought it was a bug but it was me... y'know, the game crushs sometimes right? that's why the Bug Reports forum is the one with the most posts and replies...

Yup, the game crashes sometimes.

Much, much, much more often with this last beta, though.
