Playing on 2ndcomputer

I bought the download version and play it on my home PC, but I want to put it on my laptop for when I travel. I tried just copying the stardock file to the c drive but it won't work. It actually starts, but after you pick the civilization stats and the game loads you go to the blue screen of death. Can anyone help? I hate to think I spent $50 on a game I can't put on my laptop.

BSODs are generally a sign of a hardware or driver problem. If you post the debug.err from your laptop and the information shown on the BSOD itself we may be able to help you track it down.

Here is the debug file. I guess it couldn't find the serial number, although I'm not sure where to enter it. It won't run the instllation file (wise post) from the c drive, and w2hen I try to run it from the dvd it says there's not enough room, which is odd because I have 42GB of space left on my HD.
I would love to just wipe it and re-download it. I still have all the documentation from the purchase, but I don't know where to go.

Just off the top, you're running an old version of the game and positively ancient video drivers. You can get modded versions of some recent ATI drivers that will run on IGP chips at http://www.omegadrivers.net. The drivers alone are likely the cause of the BSOD.

If you have internet on your laptop (no excuse not to--I know if has wifi, since I'm on my zv5000 right now myself!), just fire up SDC and patch up to 1.2 or the 1.3 beta patch. You really should do the same on your desktop, as 1.0X is very old and there have been a lot of gameplay changes and improvements since then, not just bug fixes. In fact, you can download the game to any computer you own at any time by just firing up SDC and logging in with your account, then downloading the game just like you did the first time.

Alright, by the look/sound of it you just copied the files from your GalCiv2 install to your laptop...? If you did that thats why you're getting the errors. All you have to do is download SDC from https://www.stardock.com/products/sdcentral/ and install it to your laptop, then log in under the account you created (if you don't know this email [email protected]), and choose to download GalCiv2 (make sure to wipe out any of the files you already have on there).

I'm running totalgaming.net (which is Stardock's electronic distribution system) games on both my laptop and my desktop.

It is clear that kyro and Benjamin Low are gamers of the highest sort, as well as being wise, powerful, and snappy dressers. I am downloading it now and at 35k/sec I believe I should be playing again in time for Christmas.

I play on both my laptop and desktop computer. I share the game files between them so I can take GC2 on the road with me...very cool. I love this game.
