Well, I never got to see them after all, despite finding out about it on Friday.
Between my regular health issues, massive computer problems, and a touch of food poisoning, I only made it to
one panel all weekend (the
Mythbusters one on Sunday); and then we got a call from Angie's mother late Sunday night that one of our cats, G'Kar, was lying on our kitchen floor unresponsive, meaning that instead of spending Monday frantically trying to cram every last bit of the con in, we spent it rushing home to take G'Kar to the Emergency Room.
The good news there is that the vet says that he is likely to make a full recovery, at least.
Oh, well. I was, at least, able to get out most nights to do the scene and take pictures (some of which I've posted to
My Flickr account). The other good thing to come out of D*C 2006 for me was that finally, after three years of mucking around with electroluminescent ribbons and tape and such, I came up with a costume idea worthy of them when I used 14 feet of red electroluminescent wiring under white gauze wrap to give myself a glowing and pulsing circulatory system on my arms. It expecially looked good when I went into the dark places at night, like the drum circles and the concerts and dances.
