I am going to start a petition and send it to.... to... to.. Well, someone.
Maybe the crew at Stardock. To commemorate Pluto by making it a planet in the game.
Please sign below if you agree.

Just a thought.

otherwise the world would still be flat! (among other things))

OMG!

Why was'nt this on the news?

They change the shape of the world and never told me...

(first, I do not want to start any real crap forumwide. This topic will stay in this post, and only in this post, as far as I am concerned.)

They change the shape of the world and never told me...

Well.. you noticed that in the game, planets are spheres, right?

However, we could wonder what means "World"? Before, "our world" and "our universe" was pretty much the same, since there was nothing outside our planet. Since we discovered that we are a simple dot in the universe, we splitted the hair and chosed that "world" is a planet.

However, if we keep "World" as "universe", then I have good news to everybody! THE WORLD IS FLAT! As proven in the Game

(And just about American/United Staters issue. Simply the fact that I don't like calling U.S.A.'s inhabitant "Americans" for the simple fact that it's wrong. What do you call an inhabitant of the American Continent? Maybe the american terminology will stick, I don't know, but just for you to know, in Quebec, the term "Américain" was applied pretty much everywhere, until some peoples used "États-Uniens" for "États-Unis" (United States). At first, they were laughed at.. but now, many Quebecer medias use the term "États-Uniens" every time they mention USA's peoples. I hope the idea will spread to other cultures as well.)

(and whoever said that you don't keep something around because it has always been that way is right, otherwise the world would still be flat! (among other things))

This statement is hysterical. First and foremost, the world was thought to be flat until it was proven that it was not. Fact. Not hypothetical, not some one simply redefining what the world was, but proven. Just as everyone thought the universe, sun, stars planets, and everything else revolved around the Earth, again until it was proven, not speculated. So, for 76 years they decided to call Pluto a planet until they redefined the word. Stupid. A rose is still a rose even if you call it something else. Every Scientist, Archeologist, palentologist, Astronomer and Oceanagrapher will agree the world is a sphere. However, not even all the Astronomers agree on this new so called definition as so graciously pointed out above.

why is it wrong to call citz of the united states americans
1 we live in america north america but still america

2 canandians live in america too and mexicans and don't forgot all the countries in central and south america (thats right boys and girls mexico is in north america) so they can be called americans too if they want to

3 canadians and mexicans have settled for those names and united staters have settled for americans probable becouse it is easier to say and we hate to waste time if the media wants to use it more power to them

So get over it, we have 8 planets and 3 dwarf planets in our solar system

And, more dwarf planets coming as they are discovered. I think it's pretty amazing we're still finding large bodies in our own solar system and now we're looking at planets in other solar systems. Cosmology and Astronomy are such wonderful fields of study.

up to 41 more already known

Gee. I really hope they make the 41 dwarf planets something all high schoolers have to learn. I am sure they will be thanking all of those in the IAU.

I just totally can't believe how quickly people have put up t-shirts and stuff on the topic too - there is some awesome stuff out there already! I'm gonna get me a few shirts so people don't forget what's happened! I encourage others to do the same. Just for a start, there's this: WWW Link

RIP Planet Pluto

So the 100s of posts of people wanting Carriers should actually be placed in the off topic category?

Carriers are an idea for galciv 2 so, technically they have full right to stay whereever they are.

it was until they discovered chiron

Earth is a twin planet? What? Since when did the Earth-Moon ortal point move outside Earth?
Does anybody know earth is a twin planet?

Yes, I do. ( I mean I agree with you, lol ).

The term 'Game World' comes to mind from this... ^^

Anyway, in a 'Game World' that I created and have worked on with other people, Pluto and Charon are capital-worlds of a government on the outskirts of the Sol system known as the 'Rim Worlds Union' ... The moons of Neptune and Uranus are part of this Union, as well as some of Saturn's moons. Saturn's moons are 'shared' among this government and another that's based out of the Galilean moons of Jupiter. Technically, the moons of Saturn have changed hands quite a bit (with Titan being the base of operations for the Jovians and Rhea for the Plutonians/Rimmers).

So I'd like it if the planet stayed a planet, so it and its mini-me could be twin-capitals of the Plutonian government.

no it was concedered a double planet becouse of the closeness in the size of the moon to the earth compared to all of the other moons and planets like i said before they found chiron

...politics aside, I have modded Pluto into my game, and it works fine as the Sol systems "sixth planet"... sometimes... (depends on galaxy setup as 5 planets is usual maximum, but sometimes it allows 6)

I have a complete setup, texture, colourscheme and RAW, take a look:

Nice Post Paladin. Nice work on the mod Maverick.

As far as Night Hawk and his post

You really should read the entire thread before posting, and understand the actual words posted in the initial post which started the thread.

From the original post #1

Sounds to me like this was an idea for GalCiv2 as well, so technically your post has no merit. I have seen numerous posts from Stardock employees who have said in multiple ways, that there will not be " Carriers " in GalCiv2. Yet not one has said that Pluto is out as a possible planet for the game.
