Patch update/ bonus download idea: Starship creation center

An idea I had for the next patch that would be pretty fun and a real convience to everyone:

From the main menu have an extra option called the "Ultimate Star Dock" or some such, and inside place all the races hulls and ship pieces in the game avaialabe for starship creation (with starship jewlery seperated by race of course so you can actualy play with them)

This would allow everyone that's just feeling like creating starships for a race, or to premake the ships for their next game to do so relatively simplly without having to keep a save file of each race with all tech researched to do so.

Another concept in addition to this would be a check box to designate a created ship as one of a races prefered ship desgins so when they are played against they will build and use that particular ship when possible. (can make for some fun themed race & fleet wars)

No way will this make the next patch. But it's a great idea, one I think was put on a DA wishlist. Still not that high on the priority list though, so it'll be a while coming.

I like the idea.

What also would be cool maybe for GCIII is have generate electronic trading card like thing with your designed ships to compare stats of different ships and could be downloaded to use the ship in your game. Each card could have all the techs required to unlock the ship.

And then you could browse the ships that you've made or downloaded in the "ultimate star dock" or in the shipyard within the game. You could also have the best ships uploaded to the Metaverse.

Maybe they'll use the similar thing to your mod in a sequel that would allow it to be used in Metaverse games  

The mod is awesome though.
