GAME CRASHES, CONT.

Once again I find myself at an impass if you would call it that,,,, this darned game still gives me problems. Drivers are updated, I updated everything I could, twice!! Raised what I think is my virtual memory (btw, how many meg's in a gig?) and now I am keeping my fingers crossed. My crashed now seem to occur when I go to save a game. The program will just shut down as soon as I click on save. I don't use quick save, so I don't know if this matters. But when I start up the game again, the saved game is completely gone from my hard drive. Now, I save up to seven times or so,,, that way if I lose one, I have another couple of saves to pick from that at least are only a few turns off of where I was. I hate this!!!! Please guys, when you put a product out for sale, for real cash, please make sure it works across all platforms intended. My computer is almost brand new so I should have never had any issues. This is the ONLY game I own that has ever had so many problems. The only reason it hasn't been deleted and the cd used as a coaster is because I love the concept. So cmon guys, at least have the expansion pack fix the bugs,,, pleeeeeez.

As a final word however, the box that the product comes in displays minimum system requirements and recommended requirements. My system is well above both thank you. So if I continue to keep having these problems, do I get a refund? How about a game that works and you can keep my money. Kinda like you paying me to fix your car and then I don't really fix it. Would you be happy? How about I give you the tools and tell you to fix it while I still keep your money. Or maybe tell you to buy your own tools so that you can try to fix it,,, because you can't use mine. Well if you don't like this treatment, now you know how I feel. If you can't fix the game, refund the money, or do anything else, do you make a game that actually works? If so, I am willing to try it in replacement of my GC2 game. Come on Stardock, what's fair is fair. How can you take money for something that ultimately, really doesn't work and when it does it is definitely not consistent. And for all of those who say they never have a problem, maybe they have a version of the game that isn't grossly defective. So what gives, and what are you going to do to make me a happy customer? Do you remember what those where?

I forgot to mention, and maybe someone can answer this, my computer has a NVIDIA Geforce 6150le, I believe, integrated video with 256mb shared memory. Is this my problem? I was told that I have a pretty reliable and decent graphics setup so I really don't know for sure. I shouldn't have to turn into a programmer or technician just to play this game!!!!! I've dabbled in places on my machine that I have never had to touch all because of GC2. And in case you missed it in my other post, how many megabits make a gigabit?

why did you make a second post? you could have just edited your origional thread or just made a new post in the origional thread.

Why do you waste time typing a comment that has no use to the question? And furthermore, the continued posts are symbolic of my growing anger, disgust, and disenchantment at this product, which would have been a great game had it not had major issues.

my point is that you are basically double posting and its not neccesary to make another post that is about the same thing.

can you post your debug.err
and now i wont look at your other post to find it.

Evil Stormbringer, When posting about the same topic, please reply to or edit the original thread. I have taken the liberty of combining your three posts into this one. If you don't understand fully how a community support forum works, please drop me an email and I will be happy to help explain further.

Thanks for doing so. Regardless, I am at work so sometimes I am a bit hurried in typing my posts. The funny thing is, not one of my questions was answered, not even the one on megs to gigs. Sorry if some of you feel that what I ask is a non issue. I've thanked people many times over for suggestions,,,, so whatever. Realize however that there is a very disgruntled typer over here right now,,,, so nothing personal towards anyone. I just want to play this game,,, is that so wrong people? Sheesh

ok, thats understandable.

As for megs to gigs, I think its 1,000 megabytes that equal 1 gigabyte, same as 1,000 kilobytes is 1 megabyte.

I understand that you are frustrated, but sometimes more info is needed and the debug.err helps because it tells the system info and what is going on. Also, are you updated to the latest patch which is 1.2?

I don't know about the vid card thing, although it could depend on when it was last updated, which the debug.err will tell you.

Well thank you kind citizen smjjames! There's still more for me to check out with regards to my issues. I'll keep trudging along!

Stormbringer, please post your debug.err. We can't help if we don't know what's going on with the game (in detail, which is what the debug.err is there for!).

totally off the subject, I hope you do not mind, but STORMBRINGER was my aol screen name for 5 years.

Are you a fan of micheal moorcock? Have you read any of his 5 books about Elric, king of something,. something{melnibone?} Elric is a very physically weak person but draws strength from Stormbringer, when stormbringer is busy ripping thesouls from the victim. BTW, Stormbringer is EVIL.

Obviously I am a Moorcock fan if I use the monicker,,, but I am more a fan of Arioch, the God of Chaos. He, or rather it, is the force behind both Elric as well as Stormbringer. Although the parasitic relationship between Elric and his sword fascinates me, it also makes one wonder what is really the definition of evil since the sword in essence provides Elric with life, albeit for a hefty price. Incidently, did you know that Stormbringer favors the souls of Elrics friends over any others, making close quarters combat with Elric even more dangerous as one could find himself being attacked by your supposed allies!

there are 1024 bytes in a kilobyte, 1024 kilobytes in a megabyte, 1024 megabytes in a gigabyte, 1024 gigabytes in a terabyte.
