17k pop on big PQ planet can result in more profit than 100k pop?

I mentioned this earlier in a post, but afraid nobody will response to this I repeated this again in a separate post....

As far is I see it, it is better to stick to population of 17k on big PQ planets and just built the whole planet full with Stock Market (after enough VC's are built)... This perhaps give a greater economic profit than 100k planet.....

I think this because the tax is related to squareroot of population:
1. A population of 100k have 2.4 times more tax profit than 17k population
2. A 25+ pop need at least (not counting the tax penalty) 7 VC's to keep people happy and fast growing, because to reach 100k pop takes a LONG time. This cost a lot of maintenance. To further able big pop, more and more farms are needed!
3. a 17k pop (about 50% base morale) would need at least 2 VC's and so give us 5 squares for Stock Markets! That is about 150% increase in economy and thus the tax! Then replace a VC by a stockmarket and then we have a whopping 180% increase. This is related to 2.8 times the tax profit from 17k population (more than 100k pop)!!!!! Then we still have a lot of empty spaces to fill with stock markets because no more farms are needed in contrast to 100k pop).

My Conclusion from the above mentioned scenario:
A 17k pop can have more profit than a 100k planet and is big enough for influence and planetary defense and as a supply planet for troops....

Overal conclusion:
The tax profit from a 25+ population is bad, due to squareroot formula... The formula need adaptation!!!

U r correct and spot on in yr observations, 100b people do however give out huge amounts of influence and score more points in the metaverse. But other than that u r better off with 17b + stock exchanges.

The lack of response is because this topic has been discussed dozens of times on this forum.

  On working it out, however.

Not to mention that if an AI somehow manages to actually get a troop transport to your planet, 100b people are going to take a LOT of killing.

Happily that some people share my view. I am not so interested in metaverses... but hey, I will try to reach 100k pop just for fun!

That 100K will also come in handy to fill your transports when you go to wipe out all the other races.

I understand that there's a cap on all "in game" population growth bonuses that limit you to a max growth of 200M per week per planet. It's not totally clear, but I think the racial population growth ability is the one thing that gets added after the 200M cap is applied. If this is true then the real max cap would be 200M + 70% or 340M per week. Does anyone know whether or not this is true?

Anyway, if the limit is 200M per week, it will take close to 10 years to fill up a 100B planet unless you use transports or colony ships to bus pop from one planet to the next. Seems to me this would be a big micro-management pain.

BTW. It's a 100B planet not 100K.

You're right with the growth cap.

Excuse for my error in using k not b (100k vs 100b)
