1.3 Beta 2 | Colonies List position lost when changing production

Open the Colonies List window (the one that sits on top of the main map on the left side of the screen). Make sure that the list contains enough colonies such that some of them are not visible unless you scroll down. Click on the ship production for the first colony listed at the top. When the ships list pops up to the right, choose a different ship to build and then click Done (or whatever the button is labeled to accept the change). The Colonies List will scroll away from the colony that you just modified for no apparent reason.

This is very irritating when you have a lot of colonies. I use this list to manage ship production frequently because I can see the list and the map at the same time (unlike the colony mgmt screen). Please fix.

I can't reproduce this.  What do you sort your planetlist by?

Starting in 1.3 the list always returns to a selected colony. If you scroll down and change production on a ship or social project, the list returns to the selected colony, very irritating if you use the list to make a lot of changes.

Ahh, that was the key information I was missing.  I always had the planet I was changing selected.

The reason it always auto-scrolls to the selected colony is because people complained that they would make changes and the list would reset itself, and they'd have to hunt for the planet again. Or they'd leave the screen, come back and have to hunt for it.

I can make it so that when you go to change a project for one of the planets on the lists, it selects that entry.

Would it be possible to add a short way to buy social improvements directly from the colony list? Like a right-click on the project listed there?

The list did not reset itself at all prior to 1.3, it would stay exactly where you were. That way you could move down the list and make any necessary changes.

I understand that people who close the screen and come back to it would have a problem, but what has been done now has made it unusable for those of us who don't close the screen and come back to it.

Just to make sure we are talking about the same screen, we are talking about the planet/ship list that is the first icon at the bottom of the screen.

It would really suck if we were taling about that and you were talking about the colony list under the civilization manager.

Why would people close the list? I'm sure they have their reasons, but I can't figure it out.

Also, my first statement above may have been a bit unnecessary considering I'm sure you know when you changed the code.

One more post.

There is a work around that just dawned on me. If you click on the planet info before clicking on the project you want to change, of course it changes the selected planet to that planet, which solves my problem. That is of course what you were saying when you said you could make that happen automatically, and that would be nice.

Man, I'm kinda wordy tonight.

That's the point I was trying to make, but you did a better job. The list was very useful to me the way it worked before, but now it's more trouble than it's worth. Can it be reverted back to the original way it functioned?
