Astral Masters comments

Advanced League unfun :(

I enjoyed playing the demo of Astral Masters and so bought the game to be able to play the Advanced League and to use the "bought-only" cards.

However, I'm seriously disappointed in the Advanced League.  I expected some cheating in points used but some of the opponents use blatantly illegal decks.  I played against one opponent (with 1215 mind for me) that used at least 8 Phantom Warriors (at 200 mind cost each) - considering those 8 showed up in the first 15 (maybe 20) cards, there were probably many more (when there are supposed to be max of 3 of any one card in a deck).  Yes, those were cards drawn - no clones or abilities were used.

I know programming a good general AI for a game is hard but it really annoys me when game designers are lazy and have the AI blatantly massively cheat.

Isn't the Phantom Warrior one of the cards that can be free of charge? Take your time, both your point level as the number of gratis cards will increase after won battles. The higher leagues are difficult at first, but you'll overcome them eventually.

One thing about Astral Masters is that while you can only have 3 of any card in a deck, the cards are recycled immediately upon use.

Ah. I hadn't thought of that. I haven't tried a super-small deck but the stats shown on the deck construction screen make me believe you could have 7 cards in a deck which I'd believe (3 Phantom Warrior and 4 "other") since the Phantom Warrior (I think) has you draw a card when played.

Maybe I'll abuse the same trick... 3 Phantom Warrior, 3 xxx (fire guy that costs 1, 4 attack, and deals 2 dmg to caster), and 1 other (probably the cheap (air?) card that increases astral pool).

Never mind. Minimum deck size is 30. There is no way the Phantom Warrior heavy opponent in Advanced League is using a legal deck - it is either *alot* smaller than 30 cards and/or has *alot* more than 3 Phantom Warriors (I killed 2-4, he only summoned 1-2 other creatures, and he finished the game with 6 in play).
