what's the diff between beta 2 and beta 2a?

No idea. However for them to release a second version immediately after the other indicates a major issue with b2, hence the reason for b2a.

May be that b2 caused an immediate CTD as they left out something.

I believe beta 2 had a somewhat annoying bug. Each save,including autosave was added on to the last--so the more you saved the bigger the file. Eventually you could not load or save the game.

Yes exactly. Basically get to a point where you can't play any more. Worse there's no recovery either...

Actually, it appears that the memory bug thing was fixed in the first beta 2. The bug appeared in beta 1 (I believe).

I did that before I worte this because it didn't really say anything except that they released 2a.
