The Drakh Hordes have arrived and work on the tech tree has begun! I have barely tested this release and want to stress that 0.3 is a long way from 1.0

Changes since 0.2 are:
* drakh hordes (tanker, carrier, mothership, raider and shuttle)
* vorlon hull design tech for good alignments (vorlons start with it)
* shadow hull design tech for evil alignments (shadows start with it)
* two new minors: abbai and arnassians
* lots of changes to existing minors (all should be a bit stronger now)
* pruned the shipcfg files and added some that were missing
* dilgar sekhmet (huge hull via neutral hull tech)
* vorlon scale building tech (really huge planet killer hull for good alignments)
* engine tech branch (9 b5 drive components)
* beam tech branch (12 b5 laser cannon components, 3 are for evil)
* mass driver tech branch (18 b5 particle cannon components)
* added new race images, including a few extras for custom races

Any feedback, including suggestions for future versions, would be great. At the moment I am just chipping away at things as they occur to me. If you think you can help with xml modding or hull importing hit me here and we will try and sort out a plan of attack.

Constantly getting better... I am seriously liking but waiting for 1.0, I hate beta testing.... I hope none of the ships are lost during the course of the public beta...


Actually, i recently go tmy wife hooked on B5, and we are now 3/4 done with Season 1.... she loves it.

This mod is excelent, just thought I would point out that I cat find the shadows class ships now the Drakh Hordes hull class has been added. Either I installed the mod wrong or they are gone. Could someone help

Actually I just checked and now the Vorlon ships are gone as well. I was using the 0.2 mod

Great work so far. It's getting better and better. You really did a huge amount of good modding, considered that this is only version 0.3. I hope you won't give up and finish this great mod.

Just a few suggestions:
- I think Vorlons and Shadows would be better suited for incredibly powerful minor races, as they are "giants in the playground". If played correctly, no other race would stand a chance against them. In mod version 0.3 their ships can also be used by every other major race, dependend on their alignment. This can lead to 5 or more shadow or vorlon fractions battling each other. Not very "realistic", don't you think.

- Would it be possible to change the alignment dependible ships the following way, for example a good aligned Earth Alliance is rewarded with the "Victory", a neutral Earth Alliance with the "Warlock" and an evil Earth Alliance with the "Omega X". This would be better suited in my opinion. There should be more than enough ships for this in the Armada 2 Babylon 5 mod.

- Can't the original ship designs be deactivated, so that only the B5 ones are shown in the shipyard list? Would boost the atmosphere a lot, I think.

- Just a hint: the Narn "Frazi" is no "Frazi". It's a "Gorith" bomber, if I remember correctly. The real "Frazi" is still missing.

Anyway, no offense intended. As a huge B5 fan I just want to help making this great mod as true to the show as possible.

Ok so I figured it out its a tech you need to research depending on your allignment (good or evil, not sure about neutral) if youplay as any of the other races the vorlons and the shadows have the tech but if you play as them you need to research it, but it takes ages.

I agree with Voltron on the Shadows and Vorlons point. As it stands they just don't feel like their respective races, and there's nothing frightening about them when you play against them. I know that all of this could change when the tech tree starts receiving race-specific technology (if it's going to) but the disadvantages of the Dread Lords (unable to colonise, only invade, for instance) would also add to the general feel of the two super powers. It might leave a bit of a vacuum with regards to major races but most of the league races in the series have quite a few colonies anyway, so it might be prudent to bump them to major, particularly the Vree and Drazi. I'd see races like the Technomages, Vendrizi, Streib and Soul Hunters (maybe even some of the First Ones) as minor races, along with the Vorlons and Shadows. It'd also be really cool to see the Raiders make an appearance as a minor race.

These are just ideas obviously, I think it's a great mod so far.

it is next to impossible to add shadow and vorlon factions that behave similar to how they did in the show (e.g. forcing other races into war with each other, no colonizing, but having basically every tech right from the start, but not really interested to wipe out races without reason etc etc) unless we can script custom AI-personalities.

also we'd basically need 2 dread lord factions / hull styles and in generally we need more than 5 or 6 hull styles to begin with. ^^

just a bitof feedback. It seems to crash every time you or another race attacks a starbase, think it might have something to do with the new tech tree and the weapons on the starbases.

Hey downloaded it, it looks great. However I have a problem which keeps happening. When a minbari fleet attacked my flag ship, the game crashes. I've been going back to the save about 10 times and it keeps happening.

Posting from an old pc, my current one is dying! I need to replace the mb, reinstall everything, (the bad side of striped arrays, as if two mb would ever have the same controller) and have a cry because my pc is old /end excuse for not testing enough

It will be a few days before a more thoroughly tested 0.3 is up. Got started on rejigging lots of files to make it easier to separate the download in to gfx and data, I'll try and make it worth the wait.

About to put a post-it on my monitor that says: "freakin PLAY the game"

I was wondering the problem I had with my flag ship being attacked and the game crashing is related to the bug or if it's just my computer? lol

Rav, I share your fate.
My new PC died too. Though in my case it luckily was just the filesystem.

One thing I noticed about the combat viewer, though probably not just mod related, is that as long as you have huge or large ships along with smaller ones, the larger ones only appear when the smaller ones are gone. And you don't see the small ones coz they're displayed too small to see. OR if you have just larger ships they don't show till some of em are gone.
At least in MY experience. Can anyone confirm having that same phenomenon or is it just me?

I'd rather have em left the way they are now and introduce the first ones as minors instead. The could own just a single world guarded by a single awfully powerful ship(you only see one of a kind in B5).
The world itself could contain either otherwise unavailable buildings or tiles with otherwise unavailable bonuses(or just multiple +700% bonus tiles).

Ok, here is what I have done so far. I have converted additional ships and starbases from the Armada 2 Babylon 5 mod.
Some ships are new, some are already in rav8's Babylon 5 mod and have only been rescaled as I don't like ships that are as big or even bigger than planets.
Finally some ships I found more pretty than those already in the mod have been added. It's up to everybody to decide for him-/herself what ships to take...

All ships are provided as they are, meaning that this isn't a complete mod. It's only a Babylon 5 ship and starbase resource. All ships are ready to use in GalCiv2.
Just rename the .x file accordingly and copy the .x file and the .png file into the models folder. That's all there is to do. By the way, always start a new game!

I still have no working pc at home but the first (ok, second ) thing I'll do when I get my new one back from the shop is get a working version of the mod up.

That's a long list of ships Voltron!

Unique ships is something I've been trying to work out for a long time - many B5 things would fit nice as unique ships (or starbases?!). I _think_ it would be possible to have the first ones as majors with no ability to colonize and the survey ship as a defensive beast... have a lot of things written down to look at when I finally get a pc that isn't a lemon.
