Getting Best Trade Deal = Micro-Management Pain

Getting Best Trade Deal = Micro-Management Pain

Please Auto Set Optimal Cash and Influence Points

Currently when buying or selling a tech there is a lot of unnecessary clicking to get the optimal deal. Currently, when selling/buying techs you need to increase/decrease the values until you find the maximum/minimum value that keeps the text green (not red). Sometimes this means clicking the mouse hundreds of times to get the maximum influence points when selling a tech (e.g., sometimes the maximum influence points will be > 3000 and you can only increase it by 10 at a time; the slider is useless because you will move it slightly and it will jump from 0 to ~10000). Ideally you would want to click on the cash and have it set to the optimal value then click on the influence points and have it also auto set.

Meglobob, clicking on the left/right arrows decrements/increments the count by 1, clicking on the up/down arrows increments/decrements the count by 10. So after determining it was >= 50 and < 100, you could have done 60, 70, 80, 90, 89, 88, 87, and 86.

I did not know that, cheers Mascrinthus.

Having read through the posts, if u r going to keep the system as is, then put in a auto-button just to get rid of all the mircro-management.

However if u wanted to make diplomacy a more skillful part of the game then go to a offer, counter-offer where either party can accept the trade straight away. No red (no deal) or green (deal), that would stop players offering everything they had for a mining resource eh...

I'm hoping Stardock will fix this micro-management pain in v1.3. As I explained above (in reply #20) there would be no need to add an auto-button. Just set the cash value to the computed limit rather than the current 100 default when the player clicks on it and do the same for influence points.

What do you think CodeCritter?

Stardock is there any chance of having this source of micro-management removed from the game in v1.3? Micro-management is work and who wants to work in a game! It seems like it would be easy to implement. Just set the cash value to the computed limit rather than the current 100 default when the player clicks on it and do the same for influence points.

With v1.3 about to be released, I guess there is no chance of this micro-management pain being addressed in v1.3. What about in Dark Avatar?
