Is there a max on RPs/turn?

Just curious if anyone knows?

My current game is almost over and i have 379 planets and converted to NLCs and use focus for production. My planets typically have 300-500RPs each with a few up around 4K RPs. So i should be up around 150K RPs /turn, but on the stats page under miscellaneous it says my research production is only 33K- 34K RPs/turn. I do have a 314% research bonus, so if the bonus is not included in that number it would be in the ballpark but still probably a little low. I also had a yearly report that said my tech rating is only 158, guess that might be because I finished the tech tree long ago and the remaining civ has like 2/3 or 3/4 of the tech tree researched.

Not a big deal just wondering if anyone knows or has some experience with this. My first attempt at a high score and thought i'ld try for a lot of points for RPs.

Er...wow, is it a metaverse game yr playing, should be interesting to see how u score

Presume u turned Tech victory off?

Take this with a pinch of salt but my guess is that yr 314% research bonus is applied after yr base RP is given ie the 33K - 34K. I imagine u would still score for 150K RPs/turn.

As for the tech rate of 158, I believe this means u have a tech rate 158% of your nearest rival. This means yr nearest tech rival should be producing around 95K RPs/turn.

Completely researching the tech tree has no effect on any of those points.

No max on RP's that I have heard of.

If you've finished the tech tree shouldn't you adjust research spending to 0 and pump up your production levels instead? this would clearly mean 0 RP per turn

The game is won and i left 1 opponent with 8 worlds while i play a sim and grow my population up. I decided to try getting points for RPs but also do some military production with focus. My only opponent cann't have anywhere near 95K RPs/turn as he's only got 8 worlds.

Gonna get some good economic points now just got the random event economy boost. Got around 400K/turn excess income, now -- that'll buy around 14 Huge hulled ships loaded up with black hole eruptors every turn -- which'll help my military points.

I believe research rating relates to the number of tech's you've researched not how much you're spending on research and in your case you have 58% more than average, which sounds about right if the only other civ has 2/3'rds of the tech tree researched. As for your metaverse score, I believe that number of years played counts against you, so if you hit end turn indefinitely it will actually lower your score. Personally I feel that the faster games are the toughest to achieve. If you can beat a gigantic map by conquest with all 9 opponents on suicidal in under 3 years, you are a much better player than one who has to research all the tech's first to beat the game.

How do you get a 314% research bonus? Is this a civilization wide bonus or an individual planet bonus? As far as I can tell the max civilization research bonus would be 20% for racial ability, 20% for Technologists Party, 10% for the Planetary Improvement tech and 20% for the Hyper Computer trade good for a total of 90%. There's also 100% for Technology Capital and 50% for Omega Research Center, but they only apply to a single planet. Also each economic SB can give a 24% boost to research for planets within their influence, so it's certainly possible to get a planet bonus up to 16 x 24% + 150% = 534% but a 314% civilization wide bonus is incredible. What am I missing?

Research mining. Yep, I guess that could do it. Thanks.

In reply to #4, i agree that the faster one wins is probably the best gage of how good a player is. I've won suicidal/gigantic/normal planets/normal research rate/tech trading on in just over 3 years with a tech victory i believe -- just too boring to finish up with a conquest victory. I've never come close to finishing the tech tree in a game before either -- usually don't even get to the highest missile tech before i win ( I use missiles myself ).

I've read as many posts on getting high scorees as i could find without too much trouble and decided to give getting a high score a try. I'm sure all my decisions will not be the best ones -- but just giving it my best shot. It would be nice if they actually told us what we get points for but heh they don't so the one who gets the highest score is just the one who made the best guess on what scores best ( or the one who really put a gigantic effort into learning the scoring system ). I also figured that this would be a good time for me to give it a try because i'm really waiting for a finished 1.3 update -- not into betas all that much but if i finish this off before its ready maybe i'll give the beta a try. Update 1.2 is a very good game but really hoping 1.3 update will be a lot better.
