Civilization IV is the worst of the series.

This game has been designed for kids and people with poor history knowledge and cannot be compared to previous civilization game.

I paid 70$ canadian for the pre-sale edition and now I'm unable to sell it 30us dollars on ebay and I only played 2 times.

This game suck, that's the worst turn-based game I ever played.


Galactic Civilization 2 own this game 10 times.

I couldn't disagree with ManoWar2 more. I love it, and think it is the best of the series, and I have been playing since Civ 1 was first released.

If you only played 2 times, perhaps you missed some of the nuances of the game.

I'm not looking for a long drawn out discussion or debate. I am just saying I personally am very happy with the game, have played all in the series heavily, and for that matter, graduated in with a degree in history. Just because the game is not completely historically accurate does not mean its not fun, at least for me.

I have Civ IV and love it. Been playing warlords which adds more civs to play as but the only real gameplay tweak is that a state can become your vassal rather than forcing you to capture all of its cities. I've also just picked up CivCity.

I completely 110% disagree. Go to gamerankings.com and see it is indeed one of the highest (in the top 10) rated video games of all time and yes this includes consoles as well. I have been a fan and community attender of all the CIV games since the very beginning. Each sequel of CIV was better then the previous by far leaving CIV4 as current champion of the group.

Oh, yes I absolutely love GalCiv2 as well.

If you guys like playing a game that look like theme park, it's ok for you.

This game is designed to be a blockbuster and not a serious and original game for true gamers.

I mean, the graphics suck, the gameplay suck and it is innacurate and really incomplete.

Remember how civilization 3 were incomplete without the two expansions ?

Civ4 is even worse.

The argue that the game is on top 10 selling so it make it a good game is not only ridiculous but that's a lack of judgement.

Seriously, the fact that most of people do something dont mean this is good.


I bought civilization 4 and was dissapointed. Actually, all the person I spkoke with disliked the game and the two I know who liked it stopped to play it after 1 month saying it has not the feeling of "1 more turn".

And yes I played civilization series from the beginning intensively and I loved the first and the second, I loved the complete edition of the third too. (without the two expansion the game suck)

Civ 4 is a step up from 3, but they still have not reached the greatness that Alpha Centauri was. I really liked Civ 4, but it's just not as addictive as GalCiv2 or SMAC.

Alpha Centauri and Crossfire own civ4 for sure.
