In a future patch maybe?

Does anyone know if there's plans to expand the diplomacy screen, or how espionage works? Currently Espionage is really basic. You just spend the mininum. With a dozen or so turns you know everything about a race, and occasionally you steal technology. I'd love to see stealing information like, what an opposing race intends to do about me. The locations of big fleets they're building. Spreading misinformation about other races, counter-intelligence, etc.

And I only ever go into the diplomacy screen if I'm trying to start or stop a war. I can't make nice with another race by giving them a better trade deal, let them have the bonuses a trade station is giving me. It's just a simple, bribe menu really, where you heap on the influence in order to get something. And influence never really helps much otherwise anyway because at the Senate votes I could care less if transports can carry 1 or 2 weapons for the next year, or whether we're taxing stations 10bc or 4bc per month. We need important votes in the Senate, like "So and so is evil should everyone break their trade contract?"

Hmmm, maybe I'll just mod this myself. If these things can be modded.

the diplomacy screen and espionage are going to be greatly improved with the Dark Avatar expansion, there won't be any major changes to the diplomacy screen as pretty much everything you mentioned is already bieng implemented for Dark Avatar.

My biggest issue with espionage has always been that you can't initiate any on the minor races. So, I can never really find out what they've done to their planet, or what kind of bonuses it might have if I decide to conquer them (I know, conquer them anyway). Also, without espionage, I can't steal techs, and occasionally they'll have one or two I might want, but they won't barter for it.
