Er... you don't even know the Zrim (sounds like some kind of drink to me...), maybe they are cool.  I suppose that Stardock will get rid of two civilizations because it would be a problem to have more civilizations than we have now... and to eliminate two civilizations that either don't work so well or that are not unique enough (aka there is already another civilization that plays similar). Also, it's part of the story! (and you won't have those civilization in GalCivIII but yes in GalCivII's expansion(S)!)

From what I understand it's just a temporary name.

Its not like your losing anything you already have. Even though in the story these two races are going ploohie, you can still play them until Galciv 3. Its not like by installing the expansion a middle finger is going to pop out and take away content

yea, the name is likely to change anyway.

as far as the two races that are bieng killed, well the story is that there is alot more evil in the galaxy, and some races won't be able to survive. The main races which are integral to the storyline such as the Terrans and Drengin won't be killed off. We already know that the Terrans won't be killed off, the Drengin won't even though they have split into two factions, and thats about as much as we know at this point.

The American Civil War? the reason why they (the Drengin) split into two factions is pretty much over ideals, one wants to kill everything and the other which are the Drengin we know, don't want to kill everything. So pretty much over whether to do a galaxy wide genocide or not. Sort of like the Drengin think the Korath faction is doing something that is not honorable.

As far as sandbox games are concerned I wonder if the Korath are a starting race, or some kind of event that occurrs when the drengin reach a certain level of power. I'd prefer the latter.

Star control any 1? Ur-quian Kor-ax(Black spiders may have mispelled the name)
American civil war, lol, please.

In some places it says only one race is getting destroyed, anyway, it may even be the Drengin, in which case you'd have, sort of, another drengin race anyway, to be honest, id prefer they wiped out the humans, though it would never happen,

No it doesn't, I've seen that once and the user was incorrect. 2 have been confirmed to go by Frogboy.

it may even be the Drengin,

Can't be, since they're the race you play as in DA.

d prefer they wiped out the humans, though it would never happen,

No, but they'll be taking the Universe out eventually

Ummmm.... no, I wasn't thinking the Civil War.

This exert taken directly from https://www.galciv.wikia.com/wiki/Yor_Collective

"But time has a way of changing priorities. Eventually, the ancient Precursor civilization split into two warring factions for control of the galaxy. One side became known as the Arnor and the other side Dread Lords."

Sounds a bit like what's happening to the Dregin... you think?

Will this story with the Dregin continue down the same path as what happened to the Precursors? Will they disappear into another random pocket universe? Will they create a race of super computer techno robots who will go around trying to destroy anything with flesh? Will Taladega nights, The Legend of Ricky Bobby surpass Miami Vice in the movie theaters next weeken..... errrr sorry.. ADD moment.

I think the Zrim are meant to be silicon based lifeforms. I do hope they change the name though. They're probably there to show off the new special environments. They must have needed a race to inhabit a crazy world type (volcanic?). PS some of the GC2 races suck (i.e. Korx).

The Yor will be happy then, always complaining about carbon based lifeforms...

It's Kohr-ah. In the Star Control universe, the race known as the Ur-Quan are split down a racial/cultural divide. Kind of odd since they work together as well, but basically the Kzer-za (Green) ur-quan believe all non-Ur-Quan races must either be enslaved by the Ur-Quan or made fallow (imprisoned beneath impenetrable slave shields.) Whereas the Kohr-Ah, or Black Ur-Quan, believe that all possible threats to Ur-Quan supremacy must be eliminated... and that all non-Ur-Quan sentients are threats to UQ supremacy. Not nice people, Kohr-ah. So basically they get together and have a massive civil war every so often to see who gets to decide what happens. It's still odd because they don't exactly "hate" each other, and in the event of external threat they're apt to stop fighting and double-team the threat. Ur-Quan are just weird, period. Not to mention fairly xenophobic in some ways... the Kzer-za being kinda squeamish and controlly and dangerous to alien races, and the Kohr-ah being kinda... ya know... genocidal. Hell, Kohr-Ah captains SIT on large bone piles. Bone piles made up of remains from every race the captain has had the pleasure of helping to exterminate....

I love SC2/Ur-Quan Masters. Good game. Go download it. Play it. NOW.

Spot on, though I think I read they are made of minerals and rocks, as opposed to metals. I just had a look to see if I could find it, but I can't. I sure hope that wasn't a dream.
